Our class WhatsApp group has been surprisingly busy during the first two weeks of the school holidays. There has been lots of chatter about school uniform, a subject close to my heart. My children seem to grow quicker during the holidays than they do at any other time of the year. We have already been clothes shopping as my daughter has gone through the knees of all her trousers so I couldn’t help but pick up some school uniform items too.
Every year the list of things needed for school seems to get longer. My son starts in a new school in September so stationery was added to our shopping list for the first time. He has been really excited about this and I’ve had to hide his new supplies to stop him from using them!
Buying school shoes is actually one of the easier things to buy. Perhaps I’m lucky that my children enjoy shoe shopping, or maybe they just dislike trying on uniform that the shoes are easy in comparison.

My 5 year old is very active at school (and home too!) so she needs shoes which work really hard for her. What a great idea, we normally go to Clark’s for the boys shoes and the sports shop for my older sons but I love that these look grown up but have the zip. Will be checking these out for my little one. x

I remember my school days when mum always bought us new shoes for every new academic year but she made our uniforms so there was never an issue there.
