Get outdoors with BEAR PAWS!

Get outdoors with BEAR PAWS!

Posted on November 15, 2017September 28, 2021 by jenny

This half term we were busy with some planned days out and plenty of days at home too. The children have been re-discovering some of their favourite toys and making the most of the garden, before it got too chilly. We made them special Half Term Reward charts, which were more a list of things to do, in case they ran out of ideas. Top of the list was spending time outdoors, as we all know that fresh air and activity helps children sleep better!

I love working with BEAR Nibbles because, like me, they believe in getting little cubs back to nature – both with what they eat and what they do! Once again, they are working with The Wildlife Trusts to help get more ‘Paws Outdoors’.

getting crafty with BEAR

To celebrate the partnership, BEAR and The Wildlife Trusts have created fun activities to do and there is a different activity for each letter of the alphabet. Yep, that’s 24 different activities to keep little cubs busy. BEAR’s Outdoor Alphabet cards can be found inside every multipack of BEAR Paws.

With two crafty kids I know we’ll be trying all the cards. This week we made fun fossils from the U, which is for Underground. We used air drying clay, baking paper, rolling pins and plastic animals to make our own awesome fossils.

The kids loved playing with the clay, pressing animals in to see what shapes were left.

When they had a tray of their own ‘fossils’ we left their creations to dry in the sunshine until they were ready to paint.

We received some BEAR Paws to enjoy whilst we tried out some of the activities. Luckily my children both adore BEAR Paws. The packaging is bright and appealing and the multipacks contain 3 cards, which is a great way to start your collection.

Is it just my children or do yours love collecting anything and everything? They carry their alphabet cards everywhere, just in case they can find someone to swap their duplicates with. All the mums in the playground know to come and find me so hopefully it won’t be long until we have a complete set of BEAR’s Outdoor Alphabet Cards!

The 100% pure fruit  snacks are available in four delicious recipes: Safari Paws (Mango & Strawberry), Jungle Paws (Apple & Blackcurrant), Arctic Paws (Raspberry & Blueberry), and Dino Paws (Strawberry & Apple). These make the best after school snacks but we can’t wait to pack them in our bags when we go off on our holidays too! #StayWild

That’s a really nice idea – along the lines of the National Trust’s 100 things to do list perhaps. Anything that gets them outside is good news!

The clay fossils are such a treat! It looks like your kids really enjoyed themselves. I can’t wait until my children are old enough to do projects like this.

Ahh this looks like so much fun. I love getting creative with clay. It was my main medium when I took art in school. I think this will make a fun weekend activity with my younger cousins!
