You know how much we love making handmade gifts. We love to come up with our own ideas but sometimes it is nice to be inspired by someone else’s idea. Hobbycraft is our go-to show when we want to pick up some craft supplies but did you know they have some fantastic tutorials on their site too?
We saw a fabulous instructions for making a Framed Family Tree and were delighted when then sent us the supplies to make our own version. Both children love to make things but I made this with my 7 year old whilst my daughter was at Street Dance.
Personalised Father’s Day frame
It is really easy to create a custom made present with this Father’s Day Box Frame and Letters Bundle from Hobbycraft. It’s great value too at only £7.00. We also used a pack of coloured card, double sided tape, La De Dah poloroid photo frames (all available from Hobbycraft) and our favourite photo.
I showed my son the supplies and he started to think about what he could make with everything. I love the fact that my children have strong ideas of what they want to make and this was absolutely his craft – with little help from me!
He chose the papers he wanted to use and attached one to the backing board of the frame.
I helped him cut the photo and place it in the polaroid photo frame with the double sided tape. He then attached it on to the backing board. He added the word DAD to the bottom of the polaroid photo frame with the wooden letter tiles.
Then we put the frame back together. To finish it off my son added his and his sister’s name to the frame with the wooden letter tiles. He was so pleased with his finished frame and it’s all wrapped up to give on Father’s Day.
Don’t forget you can buy the Father’s Day Box Frame and Letters Bundle from Hobbycraft, this is an online offer only.

June 14, 2017 at 3:46 amI wish I’d seen this sooner. My 4yo loves crafts and we wanted to do something handmade too but won’t have time. Book marking for next year, though. Such a thoughtful gift.

June 15, 2017 at 8:50 pmOh this is SO LOVELY! Such a good idea… I may be tempted to quickly try and order the same from Hobbycraft. If not even for Father’s Day but my friend’s birthday is soon and she’d love something like this!
