Vintage Playmobil figure badge

Vintage Playmobil figure badge

Posted on March 11, 2015December 8, 2019 by jenny

Ages ago I bought a bag of vintage Playmobil figures from eBay. They were mainly from the 1970s and I really wanted to craft with them and bring them back to life. You may remember the Playmobil clock and the Playmobil jar toppers I’ve made. I thought it would be fun to see if I could make some badges from a collection of vintage toys and game pieces so collected some badge backs and epoxy glue and a very old tablecloth and got to work.

How to make a vintage Playmobil figure badge:

Collect your materials. I used an epoxy glue which I mixed myself so I needed to work quickly. I used an old tablecloth in case of any spills and some badge backs from my local craft store.

crafting with epoxy glueThe fun part was definitely going through my vintage supplies and finding interesting pieces to make into badges. I chose domino tiles, vintage jigsaw and game pieces and some Playmobil figures.

upcycling vintage toysI mixed the epoxy and then used a wooden coffee stirrer to apply it to the back of the figure and added the badge back. I wiped any spills and left them to dry.

I love these so much. I am going to find some little things I can make badges with 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration.

What a clever idea. We’re in the process of sifting through all our Playmobil as the kids don’t play with it anymore – they grow up so fast (the kids that is!). We were going to give it all away to charity. But perhaps I’ll keep a few pieces back and make some badges. They’re so unique! Tx
