Cath Kidston Christmas

Monday happy things

We always seem to pack a lot into each week but the last week has been exceptionally busy. We hosted a family Christmas which was fun but tiring. Highlights included lots of lovely family time, great food, a trip to the local Lido for a Christmas Day walk, more fresh air in Black Park Country Park on Boxing Day and seeing a rather spectacular display of Christmas lights.

Last week I found time to finish Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. It is the last instalment of The Hunger Games, following The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I’d watched the first two films and loved them but wanted to read the last book. It continues the story of Katniss Everdeen, who agrees to unify the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical Capitol. I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait to go and watch the film.

We managed to fit in a small amount of Sales shopping. I treated myself to a new Cath Kidston mug (not in the Sale of course). It’s a new shape and features a fun Hexagon print. I love to drink from it with I’m stitching my EPP together.

Bin 85 NV Pinot GrigioJust before Christmas I was sent a couple of bottles of Lindeman’s Wines, from their popular Bin Series, to enjoy. I do enjoy a glass of wine after the children have gone to bed and I must admit the wine didn’t last long once opened. Lindeman’s is the ‘go-to’ wine that can be relied upon to deliver in terms of quality and taste all-year-round. The Bin 85 Pinot Grigio was delicious with our Christmas ham and the Bin 45 Cabernet Sauvignon was perfect for an evening drink with the family. Lindeman’s Bin series is available at all good supermarkets nationwide including ASDA, Morrison’s and Waitrose.

Last night we were able to nip out to the cinema to see The Imitation Game, huge thanks to my mum for baby sitting the children. I really enjoyed the film. I didn’t know much about Alan Turing before I saw it but I learned a lot and was pretty happy to sit and watch Benedict Cumberbatch for a couple of child-free hours.
