Today I had a lovely day all to myself at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Ally Pally. I’ve been for the last couple of years but this year, for the first time, I booked myself on a couple of the Learning Curves workshops. Boy, did that make the day go super fast!
First thing in the morning I found myself making a hand painted tile pot stand. I went for a simple design, it just needs baking in the oven to seal it.
After a short break it was off to learn how to recycle materials to make a one off brooch. I finished pulling the wool and fabric through but I need to sew the back of the brooch on.
After these two workshops there was time for some lunch and a look round the 320 stalls and exhibitions. It took me a while to work my way through the stalls as it was incredibly busy. I picked up some lovely fabrics and some fun Christmas patterns too.
My last workshop of the day was how to make Scandi style Christmas decorations. Again I didn’t complete them in the time so I will be finishing them off soon.
Ally Pally is such a lovely venue and I had a great time wandering around. I ran out of time so didn’t get round to see all of the curated galleries but what I did see was really inspirational.
Wow looks like a great day out. I’ve been meaning to get my wool and needles down now it’s getting colder. I need some woolly warmth!
