Musical beds

No not us, but Little Sis. For the last 15 months she has quite happily shared a room with us, but it’s time for her to go. Not that I don’t love having her with us but I want her to go straight into her own room when we move. Last year we had our spare room subdivided so she does have her own room. We just need to remove our guest bed and move her cot in. It’s been freshly decorated so it’s all ready for her.

We moved her brother into his own room when he was 6 months old so I’m not sure why I’m so reluctant to move her out. I do love having her with us. Every morning she wriggles out of her sleeping bag, stands up and shouts at me until I wake up. Then we spend a couple of minutes passing her dummy back and forth until the day starts.

I see the advantages to us having our room back. We can put the lights on when we go to bed, listen to the radio, talk to each other and other normal stuff!

She understands a lot so I was pleased to be sent a new book which aims to help you discuss the big things of childhood in an easy manner. Whilst Let’s Talk About Big Beds and Bedtime is meant for children moving from a cot to a big bed the sentiments are the same for Little Sis. Covering issues such as sleeping in unfamiliar places, waking up early and banishing monsters, this is a great book for introducing these issues and dealing with them. The book is set out in a contemporary way, with lots of photographs, text and speech bubbles.
