A geography lesson with Flags of the World game

A geography lesson with Flags of the World game

My 8 year old loves to play a board game. I was the same at his age and still enjoy playing board games. Thursday has become our special time to play board games whilst his younger sister is at Tennis club. We have recently discovered Flags of The World from Tactic Games which is perfect for ages 8 and over and can be played by up to 6 people.

Flags of The World from Tactic Games

This is an award winning, fun family card game from Finnish games company Tactic Games. The geography-based game takes you on a trip around the world learning about the all the national flags, countries, capital cities and much, much more.

I thought my geography was pretty good until I attempted this with my 8 year old! Actually my knowledge of flags was pretty appalling but this is a really fun way to learn.

Flags of the World contains 200 cards, full of fascinating questions about different countries and their special features, 6 continent boards and a detailed map of the world.

The aim of the game is to correctly guess the flag and place it on your board. The person with the most correctly placed cards on their board at the end, wins! You can adapt the game according to the number of people playing. So far we’ve played as a 2 and a 3 and it’s pretty fun… although I didn’t realise my son was using our World Cup wall planner behind me to cheat!

The game takes around 20 minutes to play which is the perfect length of time for my children. My son really likes this kind of game and I love that it’s educational too. I can see us getting this out for a quick game, especially over the Summer holidays when I need to keep their brains ticking over.

Flags of The World from Tactic Games from Smyths and all good toy shops priced £12.99.

This is brilliant, I could probably do with a refresh of which flag is for where, but my nephew would love this x
