Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things
My youngest has been enjoying the warmer weather and spending a lot of time outdoors. It’s so lovely to see her playing, especially as my 8 year old is happy to sit indoors and play on the PS4 if he’s allowed. We’re joining in with the #30DaysWild challenge. We’ve spent some time creating a bee waterer which she loved. It gave her a great excuse to play with water and I didn’t mind her getting wet as everything was drying so quickly in the sunshine.
My 8 year old was invested into Cubs. He’s been going for a few weeks now and really enjoys it. He’d definitely outgrown Beavers and likes the varied programme that Cubs offers.
My 6 year old loved Science Week at school. She really enjoyed all the different experiments they did and wanted to try them all again when she got home from school. On Friday she wore the DIY lab coat we designed together for Scientist Dress Up Day.
We spent the weekend at a Family Camp with Scouts. I have a daughter who is a Beaver and a son who is a Cub so it was lovely to be able to go along and experience camping with them. We bought the Vango Anteus 600 Family Tent from Go Outdoors which was perfect for us. I have to be honest and admit I haven’t camped since my school days but it was lovely to try something new as a family. I’m not sure I’m going to go again anytime soon but I’m really glad I tried it – and survived!
I decided to try out some craft subscription boxes as I love getting nice mail. I’m still stitching the Spring Craftpod subscription box but now I have a few news ones to try out with my children. I really love crafting with them after school so I’m looking forward to opening these up this week, and telling you about them.
Have a great week everyone!

June 12, 2018 at 2:50 pmI love the bee water station, such a fun and creative way to give back to the environment. It’s great that your kids are in Beavers and Cubs, your camp out looks fun!
