Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness- 5 happy things
Half term came at just the right time to give us all a well deserved break. I can’t quite believe how much we’ve packed in but we really wanted to enjoy every second of it. We’ve been to a craft session at the local library, the Num Noms Party in London, and today we’re coming back from a long weekend by the sea in Devon.
Last week we were in London celebrating the launch of Series 5 Num Noms at the star-studded Num Noms Party. The children had fun baking their own Nom Noms inspired lunch of pizza and fruit kebabs, and then got to decorate donuts! It was lots of fun and they got to play with the new Series of Num Noms too.
We spent a day at the pretty town of Dartmouth. Before we had the children we took a boat out on the river and decided it would be fun to do this with the children. The weather was lovely and we all really enjoyed our trip on the water. They both had a go behind the wheel too.
I made a conscious decision to make more time for mindful crafting and worked on some of the projects in the Spring Craftpod box. I also picked up one of my many WIP’s, an embroidery which has been sitting and staring at me for months. It’s amazing how much you can get done on a long car journey.
What is it about the sea? It’s just such a relaxing place to be. Yesterday we squeezed in a trip to Teignmouth for a walk along the beach, a game of mini golf, an ice cream and some time in the amusement arcade. My 8 year old couldn’t resist the call of the sea and went for a paddle. I really hope we can have a longer break by the sea soon.
Have a great week everyone!
