DreamWorks Tours: Shrek’s Adventure London

Shrek’s Adventure London

Last week we were invited to tour Shrek’s Adventure! London which is located at County Hall on the South Bank. The 2,000 square metre experience is based on a brand new adventure written by the DreamWorks team. It’s a unique themed visitor attraction which transports visitors through a live interactive adventure featuring Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and other favourites from the beloved franchise.

We love the South Bank and have been on the London Eye but never visited Shrek’s Adventure! London before. The children were really excited when they arrived outside and found out where they were going.

Shrek’s Adventure London

The whole experience takes about 75 minutes. It starts when you board the DreamWorks Tours magical flying 4D bus to Far Far Away. There you will visit Cinderella in Shrek’s swamp, bump into Puss in Boots, rescue Pinocchio from the wheel of torture and cook up a magic spell with the Muffin Man. But don’t forget to collect the special ingredients that you will need in order to find Shrek and make it back home safely!

We all really liked the interactive and immersive walkthrough experience. It was like nothing we had experienced before but it was fun! There are 10 laugh-out-loud fairytale themed live shows, incorporating actors, captivating storytelling and special effects.

Once you arrive back in London after your visit to Far Far Away, you can visit characters from Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. My children loved coming face-to-face with a newly hatched Nadder dragon.

You weren’t able to take photos during the experience which was a shame. As it’s a Merlin experience you have your photograph taken during your walkthrough and have the opportunity to purchase them at the end. We all really enjoyed the experience. I thought at 6 and 8 my children were a good age for Shrek’s Adventure. We love the films and they knew all the characters. I liked the mix of actors, storytelling and special effects and would recommend it as a great experience for the whole family.

The day we visited Shrek’s Adventure! London was lovely and sunny so after our visit we grabbed some sandwiches and enjoyed lunch in the sunshine. The South Bank is a great place to take children and mine were really happy to sit and people watch for an hour before we headed home.

Disclosure – we were given complimentary passes to Shrek’s Adventure! London but all thoughts are our own.

I never knew about this and now I really want to go, I love Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, I think it’s nice sometimes to not be allowed to take photos, so you get the most out of the experience and immerse yourself in it completely.
