Last week I told you how excited we were to go and see our first Disney on Ice show at the Wembley SSE Arena. Our whole family are big Disney fans so were really looking forward to trying something new and watching Disney On Ice Worlds of Enchantment.
Yesterday we had a lovely morning at home, the sun was out for the first time and it was great to spend time in the garden. After lunch we headed into town as we wanted to go shopping at the London Designer Outlet before the show. We grabbed some bargains and stopped for a delicious dinner at Wagamama.
Then it was time to head over to the SSE Arena. The kids wanted to play at the park which we stopped at last time we visited. We didn’t really have time but they did run through the fountains in front of the Arena. Of course they got wet – despite me warning them what was going to happen!
Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment
Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment is a 2 hour show (with interval). It showcases 4 favourite Disney films interspersed with the appearance of Mickey, Minnie, Daffy and Goofy. It started with a funĀ warm up at the Fit to Dance pre-show party before the show began.
The toys are back in town when Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and theĀ Toy StoryĀ gang escape from the rambunctious tots of Sunnyside Daycare in their most daring adventure ever! Dive into adventure with Ariel inĀ The Little Mermaidās enchanted undersea kingdom. Thrill to high-speed stunts as Lightning McQueen, Mater and the crew of Disney/PixarāsĀ CarsĀ race across the ice like youāve never seen before! Plus, enter the wintry world of Arendelle with sisters Anna and Elsa and pals Olaf and Kristoff from DisneyāsĀ Frozen, as they learn that true love comes from within.
The show went really quickly as we enjoyed it so much. The venue was really good and we had a great view of the ice rink. The staging is really good, making use of the whole rink, and there were also raised areas where the characters stood so there was always plenty to see.
The great thing about Disney is that the stories always grab your attention. My children (and us adults) love Toy Story and Cars but we hadn’t seen The Little Mermaid or Frozen for a while. It didn’t matter as the dancing was amazing and the musical arrangements brought everything back.
The skating was amazing to watch but the special effects definitely added an extra dimension. My daughter loved the bubbles which fell during The Little Mermaid, as well as the snow and lightning which appeared during the Frozen section. The costumes were really good too, totally transforming the skaters into the characters they were playing.
I loved watching my children almost as much as I loved the Disney on Ice show. They both had a great time and spent the train journey home telling me about their favourite parts of the show. Watching the live show was a great family experience, so a big thank you to Disney on Ice for our complimentary tickets.
You can find out more about the show andĀ book tickets via their website.
