The perfect Spring day out {Odds Park Farm}

Odds Park Farm

Now the weather is warming up I’m really excited to get out more at the weekend. Not that we don’t go out in winter, it’s just a lot more enjoyable when the weather is warmer. Living on the outskirts of London the countryside is at the end of the road. We’re lucky to have Odds Park Farm only 20 minutes away and in the last we’ve been for a friends birthday party as well as the Reception class school trip.

The perfect Spring day out  at Odds Park Farm

Odds Park Farm is a certified Rare Breeds Farm at Wooburn Common near High Wycombe. It’s a really lovely day out and we visit a couple of times a year. I think Spring is the best time to visit a farm as who doesn’t want to see the cute baby animals!

There are a few different parts to a day at Odds Park Farm – the Animal barn, the indoor play area and the outdoor play area. When we arrive we usually buy a bag of animal food and head straight to the animal barn. It’s a huge building with goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys and small animals such as chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. There are also timed events in the barn. When I helped on a recent school trip we watched a cow being milked and were able to stroke some of the fluffy bunnies.

There is a good indoor play area with separate areas for younger children, and a huge adventure zone including giant slides for older children. When we went to a birthday party at the farm my children spent ages of the slides. They were really high and it took them a while to build up their confidence but as soon  as they mastered it they were off.

There’s an outdoor play area too which seems to get better every year. There’s a new adventure area with balancing beams and bridges, a sand and water area, an adventure maze, Go Karts, a tractor ride, and the outdoor paddocks to see more animals such as horses, sheep and pigs.

You can easily spend all day at the farm and there are plenty of timed activities to squeeze in too. We tend to take a picnic but there’s a nice cafe and plenty of hand washing facilities – this always seems essential on a day out! Find out more about Odds Farm Park here.

    This looks like such a great day out for the little ones! Like you say, Spring is the perfect time to go because of all the baby animals. The outdoor play area looks cool too! x
