Now it’s October I feel like I can start telling you about the Halloween crafts we’ve been making. I plan my blog posts about 2 months in advance and as Halloween is perfect for crafting we have plenty to share. We love seasonal crafts and my children and I have lots of fun at this time of year.

Today I’m sharing our egg carton ghosts craft for kids. The tutorial is from a new book for Kindle called 30 Halloween Crafts for Kids by Kate at Crafts on Sea, more of that a little later.

With both my children now at school (which I’m still struggling to adjust to) crafts have to be short and sweet. Egg carton ghosts are the perfect after school activity.

Egg cartons are not what they used to be so we used ones from Hobbycraft. My 6 year old painted them with white paint, they needed two coats to completely cover the grey of the carton.

When they were dry he drew on faces with a black permanent pen. Such a simple but fun craft for kids.

We’re planning on threading invisible thread through the tops and hanging them from our mantelpiece later this month.

30 Halloween Crafts for Kids by Kate Williams

30 Halloween Crafts for Kids

Easy, simple, cute or scary but most of all fun – award nominated crafts blogger Kate Williams has created 30 great Halloween crafts for you to make with your kids. Using materials that you probably already own, 30 Halloween Crafts for Kids inspires you to create ghosts, pumpkins, mummies, witches and black cats to get your kids truly excited about Halloween (and not just trick or treating!).

A mum of two young kids, Kate creates crafts with them which are fun but achievable for little hands as well as suggesting modifications for crafts to make them suitable for older or younger children. These are not just crafts that look good, but crafts that kids really can make too.

We loved making the egg carton ghosts and can’t wait to try out more of the Halloween crafts, especially the bubble wrap ghosts, thumb print ghosts and flower stamped sugar skulls.

30 Halloween Crafts for Kids by Kate Williams is an ebook available on Amazon priced £2.99.
