Power Surge Optimus Prime

Transformers: Power Surge Optimus Prime and Mini-Con Aerobolt

Posted on September 25, 2016May 4, 2019 by jenny

My 4 year old daughter is going through a bit of a stage at the moment. One moment she wants to join Rainbows and only wants to hang out with the girls at school, the next she only likes the boys and wants to join her brother at Beavers. She’s been changing her mind so frequently that I’ve got to the stage where I just nod and agree with her. The only thing she has been faithful to is her love of Transformers. She can be a bit of a tomboy and loves the Transformers so I was pretty pleased to be offered the new Transformers Power Surge Optimus Prime and Aerobolt from Hasbro to review with her.

Hit the Decepticons with a super-charged attack with Power Surge Optimus Prime! The 11-inch tall figure comes with a Mini-Con Weaponizers Aerobolt figure and battles in 4 modes. It features pop- out cannons and wings, lights, phrases, and sounds – activated by attaching the included Aerobolt Mini-Con Weaponizers figure.

Power Surge Optimus Prime figure changes in 5 steps. This took some getting used to but now the 4 and 6 year old can transform it easily (sometimes the instructions are still needed for this!).

This really is an all singing and dancing toy! We’ve only ever had smaller Transformer toys before and this is easily the best one yet. It’s a large toy and the box contained the Power Surge Optimus Prime figure, Mini-Con Weaponizers Aerobot figure, sword accessory and instructions. 1 AA battery is included.

The cute little Mini-Con Weaponizers Aerobolt figure converts from an eagle to a shield in 1 step (easy enough even for me to do).

My daughter has been enjoying this toy. It’s pretty strong and withstands quite rough play from my two.

The Power Surge Optimus Prime & Mini-Con Aerobolt is priced £49.99 and available from Smyths, as well as Amazon (affiliate link) and other good toy shops.

My lad loved these for a while, but then he discovered football and that was it!
