A couple of weeks ago I tried baking with my favourite tea time snacks – Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers. The results were pretty special, definitely enough to warrant another baking session with another Tunnock’s products, Tunnock’s Tea Cakes.
My Tunnocks’ habit began whilst I was at University and I still have a bit of a soft spot for pretty much any Tunnocks treat. Have you ever tried at Tunnocks’ Tea Cake? They are really yummy with a delicious marshmallow centre.
Tunnocks Tea Cake Cupcakes
I made my Tunnocks Tea Cake Cupcakes the same way as my previous bake, whipping up a normal chocolate cupcake batter and adding a quarter of a tea cake to each one.
When the cupcakes had baked in the oven and cooled, I added a chocolate frosting and sprinkles to the top.
The marshmallow melted whilst baking which makes for a really moist and slightly chewy cupcake.
These are so good! I’m wondering what other Tunnock’s products I can bake with 🙂 I also have a small pile of colourful wrappers which are just asking to be crafted with. Watch this space!
I love tunnocks teacakes, they remind me of my childhood. I have not had a one in years , I really must buy some at the weekend after reading this. These cupcakes sound amazing I would never have thought about baking with teacakes and I just eat them as soon as I see them xx
