My children love small toys, the kind that fit easily into their rucksack or a pocket. I was asked to review itty bitty’s from Hallmark and these are just the kind of toy my children love to collect. If you haven’t heard of itty bitty’s before they are new from Hallmark and are a collectable plush toy. Big in the US and Australia they have recently come to the UK. There is a huge range of characters and they appeal to both children and adults.
We were sent a selection of Super Heroes, Scooby Doo and characters from the Wizard of Oz. New characters will be launched over the coming months from newly released films as well as figures from some of the most recognisable and popular film and TV shows of the past century.
Each itty bitty is about 4″. They make a great stocking filler or an ideal accompaniment to a Christmas card but I thought I would see what else I could do with them. The Father Christmas and reindeer itty bitty’s are very cute so I made personalised crackers with Hallmarks itty bitty’s as a special Christmas Day surprise!
Personalised crackers with Hallmark itty bitty’s
It is so easy to make your own crackers, we do this every year but I think these will go down really well. I bought all my supplies from Hobbycraft including cardboard tubes, snaps, paper hats, jokes and tissue paper.
I placed a paper hat and joke next to one of the itty bitty’s and carefully pushed it inside the cardboard tube.
As you can see, they fit perfectly!
Then I placed the filled cardboard tube on a piece of red tissue paper alongside the cracker snap, and wrapped it up. I used a piece of tape to hold the tissue paper in place.
I tied each end with red and white Baker’s twine and placed a small decoration on the front to finish them off.
I think the finished crackers look great and I’m so excited to see my children’s faces when they pull their crackers on Christmas Day.
Itty bitty’s are available through Amazon, selected Hallmark and Co-op stores priced around £5.99 each. The Father Christmas and Reindeer itty bitty’s are only available for a limited time but lots more will be released next year.
