We’ve been playing with some of our festive itty bitty’s over the weekend. I wrote a little about them the other day, they are collectable plush toys from Hallmark. They are very tactile and the perfect size for little hands. There are a range of characters to collect including the Justice League, the Wizard of Oz, Peanuts and Scooby Doo. New ranges are being released and we’re really excited about the Star Wars ones which I want to get for my 5 year old (and perhaps my husband too!). The only difficulty would be in choosing them as I know he would love C3P0, R2D2 and Chewbacca.
We were sent the limited edition Father Christmas and Reindeer itty bitty’s to play with and the children have been hiding them all over the house. We also discovered they fit nicely inside a Christmas cracker.
I thought we could use our festive itty bitty’s as a decoration so whipped up some red pom poms using my Hobbycraft Pom Pom Maker. They only take a few minutes and the perfect thing to do with your hands whilst watching the latest boxset. I put together this visual showing each step.
With each pom pom I left one long strand as I tidied them up, this was to hang them from my garland. When I had 5 large pom poms I took my three festive itty bitty’s and made a festive garland with them. I attached the itty bitty’s with a safety pin and tied the pom poms with the leftover wool.
They make a great garland which is nice and light, I just need to clear a space to hang it up.
