In 1983 I was 6. Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister, the pound coin replaced the pound note and a pint of milk cost just 21p.
Luckily for me I’m a hoarder so it didn’t take me long to root out my old school photos from 1983 as well as my exercise books and diaries.
Thank goodness I’ve changed in the last 30 years! I found this hilarious drawing I did when I was 6. Look at my Princess Leia hair! I think that’s a recorder next to my mouth, not sure what else it could be….
I can happily say when not at school I was completely absorbed with my huge My Little Pony collection, sang in the church choir and enjoyed my piano lessons.
The My Little Pony’s have long gone and I no longer sing or do any music which is sad but I’m pretty busy with my family. Moving house seems to be a theme in my life though as when I was 6 we moved to the Isle of Wight. I love my house drawing and the very colourful roof, obviuosly I’ve always a vivid imagination!
It seems that I’m not the only one who has changed. For the first time since 1983, Kellogg’s is changing Special K with a new, more delicious and wholesome recipe. We were sent a box and have been enjoying it for breakfast over the last week. The new recipe contains three grains — rice, wheat and barley (previously there were two) — and is made with wholegrain, for a source of fibre as well as 8 vitamins and minerals. It gives health-conscious, weight-watching women a tastier breakfast.
We were sent a box to try and I can safely safe it is a great way to start your very busy day!

We finished ours today. Aaron liked it so much he ate a bowl every day with me. Hence it went REALLY quick.
I was shocked by how delicious it is to be honest.
I haven’t found it in a shop yet but when I do I will be buying another box.
