days out London

Enjoying the London life

We had an amazing weekend. On Saturday we met up with friends and took the toddler to meet Thomas the Tank Engine, Mavis and those Troublesome Trucks at our favourite heritage railway. He had a brilliant time and only wanted to see Thomas, wasn’t fussed about any of the other activities going on! It was really lovely to see him so happy and great to spend some time with friends.

On Sunday we had both children christened in the church we got married in. They were well behaved and it was a great opportunity to get all our family and friends together. The sun shone for a second day!

However, after such a fun weekend away for once we were happy as we drove back into London and pulled up outside our little house. Over the weekend we discussed moving again. We are always talking about moving as our house is too small but we both love London so have decided to stay put for 6 months until we start looking again. The nearly-8-month-old now has a cot, in the last week the bed nest, bumbo, Baby Bjorn baby seat, the baby gym, the bassinet from the Phil & Ted’s (the list is endless) have all gone. This means she really needs her own room so we’re going to try and make some space by getting rid of our guest bed.

There are some amazing things to do in London at this time of year so we will be concentrating on having fun rather than worrying about choosing a new house and area to live. We all enjoy London so much it does seem silly to move further out at the moment. We enjoy our trips out (Legoland next weekend!) but right now we are happy to hop on the tube and enjoy museums, walking by the Thames, parks, the Olympics madness and the London life.
