toddler

What’s in it?

I’ve been having a good think about the food I give the children recently. It’s really hard ensuring two children of different ages get the nutrition they need. The 7 month old has really taken to weaning but unfortunately at the expense of her milk. She’d much rather have some healthy fromage frais or pureed fruit than a boring bottle of milk.

The toddler is going through a difficult stage. He never wants to eat the food I’ve lovingly cooked but will happily sidle up to me when I’m eating my microwaved dinner and try to pinch something from it! I have to admit occasionally I do give in and share my food with him even though I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t bear to see him go to bed hungry. This is completely the opposite of what my husband says I should do. He thinks the only way to encourage him to eat his food is to only give him food at mealtimes and not let him snack. As you can tell, my husband is much stricter than I am, but perhaps he’d act differently if he was looking after the opinionated toddler all day long.

Anyway, apart from the odd chip from my plate or biscuit from the tin, the one thing I pride myself on is that the toddler snacks we have are healthy. Fortunately he loves a lot of the Organix goodies range which have been developed specifically for little ones over 12 months. Best of all, Organix Goodies’ have a No Junk Promise, which means that the products are free from additives, added salt and processed sugars. Perfect for keeping a careful watch on what your toddler eats and limiting the nasties that won’t do him any good.
