Book review: Lunchtime by Rebecca Cobb

The well known illustrator Rebecca Cobb has recently written her second children’s book – Lunchtime. Featuring an adorable little girl this story tells the tale of one lunchtime. Unfortunately she’s just not hungry. However, luckily for her a visiting crocodile, bear and wolf are.

Lunchtime by Rebecca Cobb

The wolf munches on her apple, the bear slurps her soup and the crocodile eats her sandwich. Who would have guessed but little children taste revolting!

My toddler loves this book. I find it really difficult to get him to come near the dining room as he’s always so absorbed playing with his toys. Even if he is hungry it takes him 5 minutes to gather up all the toys he’s playing with before he’ll come and sit down! We’ve read the book together a couple of times and he loves pointing out the different animals. His first sign was for ‘more’ and he’s always quick to tell me when he’s hungry so he could definitely feel for the poor hungry little girl who was happy to eat her dinner.

The book is aimed at a 3+ audience and has a RRP of £10.99
