Review: Annabel Karmel iPhone app

We were given the chance to try the new Annabel Karmel iPhone app called ‘Annabel’s Essential Guide to Feeding your Baby and Toddler’. I love my iPhone and I enjoy cooking for Edward so this was a perfect opportunity for me to try something new!

My iPhone is stuffed full of apps to entertain Edward but just occasionally he lets me use it. I have a couple of recipe apps as I find them perfect for flicking through for inspiration when I’m short of time. The Annabel Karmel app has 100 recipes which have been helpfully split into sections for first foods, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, toddlers and toddlers desserts. Each recipe tells you the ingredients you need and takes you through the steps required to put the recipe together.

Although Edward is 14 months he only has 6 teeth so I cook a range of textures of food for him. Using the app I cooked salmon with mashed potato & carrot and mini meatballs from the 9-12 month range.

Both meals were a huge hit and the quantities allowed me to make several portions to freeze.

Happy Edward full of meatballs!

As well as the 100 recipes the app includes helpful articles and videos, a food planner and shopping list. The app can be downloaded from iTunes.
