Reasons to be cheerful

Posted on April 14, 2011November 2, 2025 by jenny

1. I bought Edward a lovely pair of walking shoes today. He hasn’t noticed he’s wearing them yet which is a good sign as he kept taking the last pair off! As he was such a good boy at the shoe shop (getting his feet measured and walking around the shop in a couple of pairs of shoes) I spoiled him by buying him some new toys even though he doesn’t need any more. There are lovely independent shops in Crouch End and I bought him a set of wooden animals and an activity book.

2. I have an annoying rash all over my arms and legs which has been driving me crazy over the last few days. This morning I couldn’t take it any more and went to see the Doctor who diagnosed it as an allergic reaction. I’m not sure what I’m allergic to but I’ve got some creams to wash in and moisturise with and hopefully it will clear up soon. Such a relief to know it will soon be over 🙂

3. We have some holiday coming up which I’m looking forward to. We’re off to a wedding this weekend, then visiting in-laws and family. I find taking Edward out of his routine quite difficult but I can’t wait to catch up with family and friends and have a change of scenery. Edward has new beach shoes and beach clothes so we’re praying the sun will come out and we can go for a paddle in the sea.

Hope you work out what is causing the allergic reaction so you can avoid it in the future and fingers crossed for sunshine – nothing nicer than a paddle in the sea when it’s sunny xx

You brought back fond memories of early shoe buying adventures so thank you for that.
Hope all the visits and events go well and that the rash is a distant memory very soon.

oooh rash sounds nasty, but glad you have some cream for it now. Hope it goes down. I was so excited when I brought my little girls first shoes, unfortunatley she cried when I took her out for her first walk in them !!

I hope your rash clears up quickly, I had PUPP in pregnancy which was horrendous so I can totally sympathise they make you miserable.

Fingers crossed the weather stays good for the wedding, hope you have a fab time and that Edward copes with his change of routine. Will be nice for you all to get away x
