With only a few days until Christmas, today I’m sharing a review of a really fun STEM toy which would make a perfect gift this Christmas. We love STEM toys and this ticks all the boxes for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot
The Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot looks pretty fun. He is a big toy and comes with a handheld remote, 5 missiles and charging cable. It was actually pretty easy to get out of the box (for once!) and the only thing we needed to supply was a screwdriver and 2 AA batteries before we could start playing.
The Xtrem Bot, Trooper Bot is a rechargeable hi-tech robot and stands at just over 35cm tall. Our Trooper Bot came ready charged which was good as of course my children wanted to play as soon as they saw it.
The high tech trooper bot is armed and ready for combat. With a missile launcher built into its arm – take aim and fire using the infrared remote control. Then when the battle is over, Trooper Bot can perform its own robotic dance! Trooper Bot can walk and slide forward, turn, move backwards, and follow up to 50 consecutive commands.
My children have been having so much fun with this toy. The multi LED eyes have a variety of facial expressions which are fun to interpret. The infra-red transmitter reaches a range of more than 5 metres so this has had quite a lot of play around the house. It is designed for ages 5 years and up, which I think is perfect. My children are 6 and 7 and they didn’t need much help from me before they were able to play.
Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot remote control
The remote control looks quite complicated. It has lots of different buttons but they are all pretty self-explanatory. It enables you to control the Trooper Bot and make it move around. They both liked the fact you can programme it.
How to charge the Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot
They’ve played with it quite a lot and it’s super easy to re-charge. Just make sure the Bot is switched off and using the charging cable plug the Bot in via the USB charger outlet. You can use a wall socket, power pack or computer. There’s a small light on the back so you know when it’s charging, this goes off when it’s fully charged, which is around 2 hours. If the Bot is fully charged it should give you 2 hours of play time which is pretty good for a re-chargeable toy.
The Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot is perfect for ages 5 and up. It is priced around £59.99.
