What do men think of pushchairs? We have a very trendy friend who only ever uses one hand to push his son around but I’m pleased to say when we’re out and about my husband does his fair share of pushing. So I thought I’d ask his for his thoughts on the Quinny Zapp Xtra:
What do men really think of pushchairs?
The first I heard of the Quinny Zapp Xtra was back in September when my wife told me she was a QuinnyCaster. My pushchair knowledge was limited to what I had seen as part of our John Lewis nursery appointment or what our friends were using.
We already have a Bugaboo Cameleon which we both love so I was keen to compare the two. As soon as we unpacked and assembled the Zapp Xtra it looked and felt completely different. It also handled quite differently when out and about.
I love the fact the chassis folds small. Shortly before our son was born we bought a bigger car but I didn’t anticipate how much stuff a baby needs. A small pram is essential!
It’s lightweight and good around the streets of London. I usually drive everywhere (unlike my other half) so it’s handy to have a pram which fits in the boot but doesn’t compromise on quality.
I’m not so keen on the join in the handlebar which makes it less sturdy. It’s also a hassle remembering to pack the car seat adapters if you want to use the car seat rather than the Zapp Xtra seat.
I like the simplicity of the brake and the colour black is neutral – good for mum’s and dad’s!
