Washing baby clothes and other memories

School holidays or not I seem to spend a huge amount of my time washing clothes. Fortunately, one of my favourite smells is clean washing. Certain smells trigger some memories. One of my earliest blog posts was about the amount of washing my son made. In his first few months he brought up a lot of his feed after each bottle so we had muslins everywhere. I was always washing baby clothes during those first few months of his life.

My poor little man had sensitive skin too so I relied on really good products to get us through – Persil and Comfort Pure  – which was one less thing to worry about. You may remember we didn’t have the easiest start as my husband spent some weeks in hospital just after my son was born. My early memories are of juggling a new born, piles of washing, and hospital visits.

I’m always looking for the best products to help me look after my children. I’ve found Persil helps takes care of our clothes, getting rid of stains and making sure my children always look their best. I still use it especially now they are at the age where they have their favourite clothes. I do my best to make sure their clothes are always clean, soft and smell just right.

Persil Non-Bio contains no enzymes, which helps to protect your and your baby’s sensitive skin. This made it the obvious choice for my children. It uses surfactants to ensure your clothes are clean and kind next to skin. It is also hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested. Comfort Pure make clothes extra soft which is perfect for young skin.

Just why are my washing habits worthy of a blog post? Well Peril Non-Bio and Comfort Pure have teamed up with Tommy’s Charity in ASDA. Right now you can purchase exclusive packs of Persil Non-Bio 25 wash and Comfort Pure 42 wash and a proportion of each purchase will be made to Tommy’s Charity to fund their research into miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
Although I don’t have a personal connection to Tommy’s Charity we have friends who have suffered premature birth and miscarriage. I used their website when I was pregnant as it’s full of useful information.

This is the 16th year that ASDA have supported Tommy’s and I think it’s great that by picking up Persil and Comfort Care during your weekly shop you can raise money for Tommy’s Charity and help fund vital research into pregnancy and birth.

If you’re wondering what to do with the empty packs when you’ve used the contents then look no further. My children are experts at junk modelling and we’ve been busy pinning ideas to our Recycled Crafts board on Pinterest so have some great suggestions. We’ve had fun turning an empty bottle into a windsock but there are some lovely ideas from upcycling a bottle into a recipe card holder or even a little basket.

Your little boy is so cute! I have to be careful about fabric softeners and washing powders too so I can relate that you have to be super careful for little ones x

I love this! My daughter loves playing dress up but it usually includes her changing clothes a million times during the day. I have always struggled to find a dress up activity for her that is durable enough but still easy for her to play with, and I LOVE this idea. Thank you so much for sharing!
