We’ve really been enjoying the Easter holidays. The warm weather has helped but we’ve had some great days out, the children have been playing together nicely and it’s been lovely to find time to explore our local area as well as play with their toys. NOW TV kindly sent us a box of Easter treats, containing everything we needed to make a range of Easter Tot Cross Buns. These recipes were devised by Candice, GBBO winner, inspired by the incredible range of kids tv available on demand.
We were sent recipe cards to make Bun-der the sea pineapple treats, inspired by Nicktoons’ SpongeBob SquarePants, or solve the case of what’s in the Mystery Bun from Boomerang’s Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Get your pizza kick when you simple the Ninja Bun – inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ favourite food – and feel like a superhero when you tuck into the cinnamon an popping candy combination of The Powerpuff Girls Hot X Bun.
As we were just about to go away on holiday we decided to decorate ready made Hot Cross buns and turn them into The Powerpuff Girls Hot X Buns.
Our recipe card included a recipe to make Hot X Buns. We skipped this part and jumped straight into the decorating bit! The children loved getting involved and helped me mix up some pink icing. Then we drizzled it over the top of the Hot Cross buns. We added strawberry laces, edible glitter and mini marshmallows to finish them off.
They were the perfect treat to enjoy whilst we tried out the complimentary NOW TV Kids Pass which was inside our box. With 1000s of free episodes it’s sure to keep the kids entertained for hours for just £2.99 a month.
