Getting creative with The Wild Garden {a rub-down transfer book}

Getting creative with The Wild Garden

I love my adult colouring book collection but was recently introduced to something a little different. The Wild Garden from Usborne Publishing is a rub-down transfer book which is the perfect gift for Mother’s Day and a creative and therapeutic experience for children and adults alike.

The Wild Garden rub-down transfer book, is brimming with eleven exquisite gardens. Each ‘garden’ has a delicate line drawing to colour in and a colourful picture to fill with beautiful rub-down transfers of flowers, butterflies, birds, frogs and fish, which are stored in a handy envelope at the front of the book.

There is something new to discover on every page , with buzzing bees in the Summer Meadow, bright yellow koi carp in the pond, prickly cactus in the Cactus Garden and elegant cherry and Chinese magnolia in the Spring Blossom Gardens.

I remember rub-down transfers from my childhood but haven’t seen them since. I really enjoyed looking through the pages, finding the correct transfer sheet, and choosing where to put them. Of course as soon as my children saw what I was doing they wanted to have a go to. They also enjoyed using the book, quickly grasping the idea of using the transfer sheet.

The Wild Garden is out now and Butterflies and Bugs is published on 1st July. Both are priced at £12.99 and available from Usborne Publishing, Amazon and all good book shops.

    I haven’t done those kind of transfers since I was a child. This looks nice, I bet my daugters would like it. Mich x
