Starting my week with the Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 9/2026}
It felt more spring-like last week. It finally stopped raining and felt a little warmer too. Morden Hall Park is a National Trust former deer park in Zone 4. It lines the River Wandle and was once surrounded by industrial mills, including snuff mills that provided income for the estate’s owners. Today the house serves as an events venue, but the park is free for all to use, and includes wonderful walks, a rose garden, second-hand bookshop, café and the National Trust’s only garden centre.
Last week I finished reading Daughter of the Titanic by Caroline Cauchi. I really enjoyed finding out more about the fascinating life of Melville Russell Cooke, daughter of the Captain of the Titanic. This was a good historical fiction novel, and is published by HarperCollins this month.
I completed working on the moth embroidery from my autumn Craftpod subscription box. This was such a sweet craft box with two projects – the embroidery and lino cutting.
We enjoyed warm Welsh cakes to celebrate St David’s Day. We’ve made them before but can never resist the ones from M&S. They taste so good heated up in the air fryer. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus!
We enjoyed a few meals out last week and went out for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We chose Social Dough which is a small independent pizza restaurant near us. We had such a delicious meal, and no washing up!
Wishing you a week full of small wins and big smiles!

I love Morden Hall Park. I went there on the tram a couple of years ago with my son. We loved looking at the roses and the wetland area. We also went in the secondhand book shop!
I used to work in Morden and would drive past there everyday, but have never been. Also one of my daughters friends lives in Morden and often over that way I must visit there one day. I love eating out and not having to prepare meals or clear up after
This week brought small wins and smiles. Loved time outdoors, cozy crafts, and delicious meals together.
Morden Hall Park sounds like a wonderful place to visit and explore. I’d love to see the rose garden.
I started to focus a lot more on small wins and small steps instead of being frustrated for not achieving a huge goal. This is helping me a lot.
It sounds like it’s been a great week. I can’t wait to see the finished projects. Those are always my favorite.
Looks like you had a great week. This actually keeps me motivated. Thanks for sharing.
Daughter of the Titanic sounds like a great read. I’ve always been fascinated with the ship and its sinking, so learning about the captain’s daughter sounds great.
Happy St Davids day for last weekend. I love the M&S welsh cakes too but have never thought to heat them up, game changer! We’re had some sunshine here and I really hope it means Spring is here to stay x
Daughter of the Titanic sounds like a fantastic read! I love a good fictional historical novel. Wishing you a great week!
Air frying those Welsh cakes for St David’s Day is a brilliant way to get that perfect texture without much effort. I find that independent pizza spots like Social Dough always provide a much better atmosphere for a birthday dinner. It is lovely that Morden Hall Park offers those river walks for free right in the city.
Your moth came out beautifully. Will you be adding color? I really enjoyed a bit of sun, but it feels fleeting…
