Starting my week with the Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 9/2026}
It felt more spring-like last week. It finally stopped raining and felt a little warmer too. Morden Hall Park is a National Trust former deer park in Zone 4. It lines the River Wandle and was once surrounded by industrial mills, including snuff mills that provided income for the estate’s owners. Today the house serves as an events venue, but the park is free for all to use, and includes wonderful walks, a rose garden, second-hand bookshop, café and the National Trust’s only garden centre.
Last week I finished reading Daughter of the Titanic by Caroline Cauchi. I really enjoyed finding out more about the fascinating life of Melville Russell Cooke, daughter of the Captain of the Titanic. This was a good historical fiction novel, and is published by HarperCollins this month.
I completed working on the moth embroidery from my autumn Craftpod subscription box. This was such a sweet craft box with two projects – the embroidery and lino cutting.
We enjoyed warm Welsh cakes to celebrate St David’s Day. We’ve made them before but can never resist the ones from M&S. They taste so good heated up in the air fryer. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus!
We enjoyed a few meals out last week and went out for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We chose Social Dough which is a small independent pizza restaurant near us. We had such a delicious meal, and no washing up!
Wishing you a week full of small wins and big smiles!
