Starting my week with the Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 7/2026}
We made it to half term! I wish I had the whole week off to spend with my kids but I’ve had to settle for a couple of days later this week. My kids need a break from school after a long, wet half term.
Last week I worked and finished a small Irish chain block mini quilt. I had the idea of making a little doll quilt by hand but never quite got round to starting. Of course, as soon I started I couldn’t put it down. I love the process of making quilt blocks and the Irish chain block is a very simple one. I made mine in red and white but would love to make a larger, scrappier version.
Over the weekend I spent a day at The London Archives doing some family history research. I’ve looked at records online for so long, but it was much more fun holding original documents. I discovered some amazing stories and it was great to do something different.
A few months ago we collected all of the Lego Minifigure F1 race cars. The kids used to love collecting the minifigure series, but they had grown out of it, until the F1 series! We 3D printed stands which help two cars but we wanted to wall mount them all, so ended up buying the Ikea Sannahed frame and mounting them. They look great, and will remain dust-free now.
The bulbs I planted in Autumn are finally beginning to show. I bought a lot of Spring bulbs and my daffodils have come through and everything else is looking promising. I can’t wait to be able to get out in my garden again.
Until next week—find the joy in the little things.
