Starting my week with the Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 4/2026}
The oldest teen received his latest mock GCSE results and had an interview for Sixth Form. He is growing up so fast and it’s exciting watching him mature into a lovely young man.
The youngest teen was picked to play in her school netball match. Unfortunately it didn’t go very well but I love that she continues to show up and take part. She also got great results as parents evening so I was really proud of her.
My husband and I went out for a special Burns Nights dinner. We did this last year too and I love that we are starting a new (adults only) tradition. We made haggis sausage rolls, which were amazing for a taste of Burns Night at home.
We had a day in London yesterday. I wanted to learn more about Creativity in Conflict and Confinement at the Imperial War Museum, especially the new Liberty fabrics which had been designed with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. Unfortunately they had sold out of the fabric in the gift shop (which my bank card was grateful for). We went for some lunch at Draughts Board Game cafe at Waterloo and played Hues and Cues.
Last week I finished the sewing project in my winter Craftpod sub box. It’s a delightful felt and linen collage featuring a robin. I’m having difficulty deciding what to make next and I need to choose something to keep my hands busy
Until next week—find the joy in the little things

Your London day out sounds like it was so much fun. I always love going to a museum.
Your visit to the Imperial War Museum sounds interesting! Sorry to hear that the Liberty fabrics had sold out.
Actually, attending a Burns Night dinner sounds like a fun way to spend time together. Those haggis sausage rolls are a really clever idea for a snack at home.
Well done to both teens who are smashing it. I haven’t been to that museum in years – it really sounds like it is worth a visit!
omg the haggis sausage rolls look sooooo delicious, I am literally drooling. I love sausage rolls, maybe a bit too much lol…
Mock exams and a sixth form interview! I do hope they get a place in the school they want!
Such a lovely snapshot of the week. The Weekly Edit really does make you slow down and appreciate how much can happen in just seven days.
Surely your London day out sounds awesome. So many fantastic spots to visit in there.
Time definitely flies when you have kids, its great that they are forming memories and gaining experiences! Also time to yourselves is really important, glad you guys had some fun (ps: the rolls look delicious!)
I went to that board game cafe before and it’s such a nice one isn’t it. I bet it feels like the kids have grown up so fast, my little ones only 7.5 months but it’s going too fast for my liking already x
What a fun collection of the week! Our teen is also interviewing – it’s wild seeing them grow up so fast.
