sardines in a tin cross stitch

The Weekly Edit {Week 28/2026}

Posted on July 13, 2026July 15, 2026 by jenny

Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.

The Weekly Edit {Week 28/2026}

Last week I took the teens to the end of year concert at their school. Neither was taking part but wanted to cheer on their friends. It was a fun night out with some lovely music. Can’t quite believe we’re heading into the last week of term already.

Over the weekend we went to Ikea to look at new desks for the oldest teen. We have ordered a cabin for the garden for the teens to hang out in but will need to furnish it with a new desk and chair.

The weather has cooled slightly and I’ve been enjoying the cross stitch sardines in a tin I bought a few weeks ago.

dog walk in the woods

Our dog does not enjoy the hot weather so we’ve been walking him through the local woods during the cooler part of the day.

    I am loving the sardines cross stitch, I might have to start a new hobby! I must say I am hoping for the temperature to cool down just a little bit.

    omg your dog seem so happy, I can’t get over his face, adorable. I hate hot weather as well and this Summer it’s been one of the hottest ever.

    It sounds like you had such a lovely week! I really enjoyed reading about the family concert, the trip to Ikea, and the exciting plans for the new garden cabin. I also love that you’re making time for cross stitch, and those cooler walks through the woods with your dog sound so peaceful.

    Hope you and all the family are coping okay in the heat, it really does affect the pets a lot doesn’t it. It’s so nice that your kids wanted to cheer on their friends x

    Sounds like a wonderful week for you and what a super cute fur baby you have. I agree with being careful with the heat and not only for ourselves but also our pooches.
