Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 26/2026}
My big teen spent a day at school for his Sixth Form Foundation Day. He had taster lessons and got to enjoy the facilities in the Sixth Form area. I think he is enjoying the freedom of his longer summer holidays and went to the local climbing centre with a friend.
We built and installed some new furniture, so now we have lovely, tidy shoe storage and some new shelves in the living room. The rooms are looking very different now. Just the new tv cabinet to build and our living area is done for now.
My younger teen received an award at the end of year Scouts BBQ. I was so glad I went and was able to watch her receiving her award. We treated ourselves to a trip to the cinema to go and watch Toy Story 5 to celebrate!
The weather was so hot last week that I found it difficult to concentrate. Thankfully I had treated myself to the teabreak project sub box. The sub boxes I used to get have all stopped and I really miss getting something fun in the post. This box contained a simple project to make whilst I enjoyed a tea break. It’s a great concept and I loved trying a new craft. My big teen even commented on how lovely the new basket was, and couldn’t believe I had made it myself.
There is a new retrospective of Frida Kahlo’s work at Tate Modern and to coincide with this, there are a number of Frida Kahlo inspired murals around the South Bank. The young teen and I went off to discover them and it made for a fun afternoon in London.
