I regularly write about books and magazines I’ve been enjoying. I’ve read quite a few books lately but since finishing my last one, review coming soon …. I couldn’t resist picking up a copy of The Big Comic Relief Crafternoon to read. I’m a big fan of Mollie Makes and am still enjoying the Mollie Makes Creativity I told you about here.
The Big Comic Relief Crafternoon
I picked up a copy in Sainsbury’s along with the weekly shop. It cost £8.99 with £5 of that going directly to Comic Relief projects. The magazine/bookazine contains over 50 crafty makes for Red Nose Day which takes place on March 24th.
The blurb says: Mollie Makes has teamed up with Comic Relief to bring you over 50 easy-to-make projects. Be inspired by this year’s Red Nose Day ‘Make your laugh matter’ theme, and make your craft matter with Deadly Knitshade’s pom pom beard, Louise Kelly’s adorable dolls, Clare Trowbridge crochet birds and Emma Congdon’s cross stitch motto.
This is a lovely magazine with projects donated by well known crafty people including Attic 24, Millie Marotta, Lia Griffith, Lisa Comfort and Emma Mitchell. As well as making the crafts at home you could also organise your own Big Comic Relief Crafternoon, and sell any of the makes to raise money for Comic Relief.
A few of the projects I’ve seen in previous issues of Mollie Makes but there are tons of new projects too. I can’t wait to try making the gorgeous bunny pendants by Chloe Hardistry, once I’ve tracked down some 10 count plastic canvas!
I also want to try the botanical block stamps, brush lettering (I keep saying this!), and paper plant mural. There are too many lovely projects but I look forward to trying a few new things over the coming weeks.
