If you have a young child you’re probably aware of LeapFrog’s popular line of Scout learning products that includes interactive plush friends such as My Pal Scout and My Pal Violet, My Own Leaptop and Chat & Count Smart Phone toys. My 4 year old has a My Pal Scout whilst my 2 year has her very own Violet. They really enjoy these kind of interactive toys which is why I was happy to try out the latest addition to the range, Leapfrog Read With Me Scout (there’s a Read With Me Violet too), a cute interactive plush puppy designed…

I mentioned that Little Sis has been reviewing some of the Playmobil 1-2-3 range. Her older brother was sent the new Playmobil police truck with speedboat set 5187 to review. It’s a really lovely set and pretty easy to put together although the stickers are very fiddly! According to the Playmobil site: Protect by land and sea with the Police Truck with Speedboat. Race to the scene in the police truck, equipped with a removable roof and four working doors that make it easy to seat up to four figures. Kids can also embark on a water investigation with the…

We had a lovely half term break with a couple of trips into the West End, a special meeting with Tree Fu Tom and finished off with a trip to visit nanny in the countryside. Unfortunately towards the end of the week everyone started to succumb to coughs and colds and in my case, laryngitis! I don’t think I’ve felt so ill in a long time and I found out just how difficult it is to look after two small children when you’ve lost your voice. Thanks to our role as Playmobil Playologists I received a box of the latest…

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve had the added responsibility of looking after Kit the Cupet. He’s small, cute and a lot quieter (and cheaper) than my children! There are 12 cute and quirky ‘cube shaped pets’ to collect. Cupets come to life on your smart device in conjunction with the free app, each with their own personality and ability. Play fun games and enter Cupets World for an exciting adventure! You can nurture your Cupet, feed, bath and care for your digital pet. They totally remind me of the Tamagotchis which used to be popular when I was…

Big Brother kindly offered to review some of Flairs Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles products. He was sent a Power Sound FX Turtles Figure and a Turtles Ninja Combat Gear Set. According to Wikipedia: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (often shortened to TMNT or Ninja Turtles) are a fictional team of four teenage anthropomorphic turtles, named after four Renaissance artists, who were trained by their anthropomorphic rat sensei in the art of ninjutsu. From their home in the storm sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated animals, and alien invaders while attempting to remain isolated from…

Little Sis kindly offered to review the new Gruffalo My First Puzzles Jigsaw set from Ravensburger, aimed at children aged 18 months plus. The box contains four bright and colourful puzzles specially designed for youngsters aged 18 months+. The puzzles feature images of the Gruffalo (2 piece), Snake (3 piece), Mouse (4 piece) and Owl and Snake (5 piece). Each puzzle has a different coloured border which is designed to…

Just before Christmas we heard the exciting news that we had been chosen to be official Toys R Us Toyologists and put a toy through its paces. We were sent the Thomas and Friends Take -N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle which looks like this: I wanted to surprise my 3 year old so made it whilst he was at nursery. I had some help from his little sister and it came together quite quickly. Fortunately I didn’t need a screwdriver, the pieces just slotted into place. The Thomas and Friends Take-N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle ties in with the King of the…

My 2 year old daughter absolutely adores pink. Try as I might (and I’ve tried pretty hard) I can’t do anything about it. So I’ve decided to just let her get on with it, fingers crossed she’ll grow out of it one day. Just before Christmas Big Game hunters sent her the Twinkle Tower from Le Toy Van to review, one of many toy castles and houses they sell. It was pink. Building toys is not my strong point so I was pretty pleased that the Twinkle Tower came straight out of the box and could be played with immediately.…

Doc McStuffins fixes broken toys in her backyard playhouse clinic with the help of her friends Hallie, Lambie, Chilly, and Stuffy. Both my children love the programme and love to play doctor to their toys. They were sent the Make Me Better Lambie from the very popular Doc McStuffins range of toys from Flair. The toy was very appealing in the box and pretty simple to get out. It needed a battery and then was ready to go. Lambie was grabbed by Little Sis straight away although it took her a while to figure out the connection between placing the…
