Yoomi bottle and warmer in one

We were recently asked to try the Yoomi bottle and warmer in one. Edward is now down to one bottle of milk before bed so we were anxious to try it and see if it would be useful for the Second Baby who arrives in a couple of weeks. Yoomi claims to warm baby’s feed to the natural temperature of breast milk at the touch of a button – in just 60 seconds. Our first impression was that the packaging was bright and cheerful, just what you’d expect from a high end product. The instructions sounded complicated but really weren’t!…

How to make a wooden Christmas tree

I know we haven’t had Halloween yet but I’ve been itching to show you our wooden Christmas tree. I’ve seen lots of variations of wooden Christmas trees using driftwood so every time we were at the seaside I would scour the beach for suitable pieces. After months of looking and not finding I gave up and decided small branches from the local woods would do just as well! I also found a piece of scaffolding wood outside our house so knew this project was meant to be. How to make a wooden Christmas tree You will need: a selection of…

    Swimming with a toddler

I’ve taken Edward swimming once a week at our local pool since he was little which he really enjoys. The lessons are quite structured (sometimes too structured) but I’m just happy that he loves the water and is happy and confident in it. He dislikes putting his head under water or using armbands so we just concentrate on having lots of fun! We’ve always used Huggies Little Swimmers underneath his swim shorts and they’ve been brilliant and never let us down. I remember when we had just started swimming when one little boys swim nappy didn’t contain a rather runny…

    Pampers play personality survey

I just love surveys! We recently took part in Pampers play personality survey, by Pampers Village Parenting Panel expert, Dr Maggie Redshaw, and found Edward is a fan of Active Play!   Your Child currently enjoys Active Play Your baby is probably on the move a great deal of the time. He enjoys physical activity and at times you may have trouble keeping up. Early on he will be keen to stand while you support him and will enjoy bouncing games on your lap. For him each new activity is seen as a challenge and crawling, walking, running, climbing or…

    Crisps on the bus floor

Edward’s going through a phase where nothing makes him happier than munching his way through a bag of crisps. To some people, this is probably akin to giving him a fruit shoot or biscuit but he has a balanced diet so this is his treat. The last couple of times he’s had a bag we’ve been on a bus and the bag has ripped, sending crisps everywhere! This is obviously a huge social faux pas and has resulted in lots of looks from fellow travellers. A couple of times I’ve tried to take the bag from him as it’s started…

    Bedding for toddlers!

It’s a big moment when your child progresses from their sleeping bag to bedding and I was delighted when we were asked if we wanted to review some bedding from baroo, who specialise in bedding for babies and toddlers as well as gorgeous Moses baskets. Edward loves giraffes so we chose the Just Giraffe Toddler Bedding which consisted of a pillow and duvet cover. Natural gingham with fun stick giraffe character Fully reversible Toddler Bed/Cotbed Size: 150cm x 120cm Pillowcase Size: 60cm x 40cm. 100% Cotton Machine Washable The bedding looked lovely so I ripped off the packaging and quickly put…

George & Hollie and the Magic Carry Potties

Amanda Jenner, the lady behind the My Carry Potty, has just written her first children’s story book which is designed to help parents and their children take the stress out of potty training. The book, ‘George & Hollie and the Magic Carry Potties’, includes a reward chart and stickers. Although Edward is a little young to start potty training I feel it is our next big step and want to be prepared as much as possible! I will happily read anything and everything on the subject to make sure we tackle it properly. We’ve read through the book a couple…
