I love to try new things so when I spotted the new Philadelphia Deliciously Whipped during my weekly food shop I picked up a few pots to keep in the fridge. Philadelphia Deliciously Whipped comes in three flavours – Philadelphia Deliciously Whipped Original, Philadelphia Deliciously Whipped Black and Green Olives and Philadelphia Deliciously Whipped Fine Herbs & A Hint of Garlic. If you’re a fan of Philadelphia then these pots are the perfect size for sharing, or equally enjoying on your own. Today is World Baking Day and I couldn’t let it pass without making something special for my family. I had planned to make some tea bag biscuits for the family. I did make them but they didn’t look good enough to share with my family so I used the extra dough to make some Miffy biscuits. My children love biscuits, but biscuits in the shape of their favourite characters are incredibly popular and make them super happy. Recipe for Miffy butter biscuits 500g plain flour 180g caster sugar 250g margarine 2 large eggs How to make Miffy butter biscuits This…

Yesterday we experienced typical British weather, the complete opposite of the previous 24 hours. After a long day soaking up the sunshine, it rained practically all day long. I wanted to make a delicious lunch, packed full of good things to give us all some much needed energy and came up with an asparagus and egg salad. It’s the asparagus season so it’s lovely to be able to eat something fresh and packed full of flavour. It was super quick to prepare and a meal the whole family enjoyed so I thought I would share it here. Ingredients for an…

This week has been quite busy so I’ve been making super quick meals. One of our friends makes the most delicious Spanish tortillas which inspired me to make a feta, courgette and chorizo version. With a little preparation they are quite simple to make but quick and filling when you don’t want to spend ages in the kitchen. Ingredients for feta, courgette and chorizo tortilla: 5 large British Lion eggs Olive oil 3 large potatoes – peeled and thinly sliced 1 onion – peeled and chopped Chorizo (I used some leftover chorizo sausages) Feta 1 Courgette – sliced and cubed…

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to make good food for the family. Today I wanted to share my recipe for Sweet potato and tuna fish cakes. It’s a simple recipe, quick if you use left-overs (which I’m a big fan of doing) and a great use of store cupboard essentials, such as canned fish which is really convenient for family mealtimes. Ingredients to make Sweet potato and tuna fish cakes: 2 medium sweet potatoes peeled and cubed Princes tuna chunks in brine lemon juice black pepper vegetable oil Two slices of bread or breadcrumbs bunch…

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know that I love to bake and cook from scratch, as a stay at home mum I feel like I should! I love trying new ideas and was recently sent a recipe for some delicious sounding granola cookies made with Jordans Super Nutty Granola. I made these yesterday whilst my children were eating their dinner, they took 10 minutes to put together and 14 minutes in the oven (Gas Mark 4). They’re so quick and easy they’d make a great treat for someone special if you’re celebrating Mother’s Day or any…
