Last week I was invited to The Portland Hospital for a look behind the scenes. I’ve lived in London for a long time and regularly see pictures of celebrities being papped outside The Portland with their new arrivals. As I’m currently pregnant I was interested in the maternity services at The Portland and they offer an impressive service including 14+ antenatal appointments, all routine blood tests, 3 scans, active birth workshops and hypnobirthing classes and access to complimentary therapies. I met a couple of the midwives and they were lovely, doing a job they clearly enjoyed in a wonderful environment.…

Today was the day that Cybermummy11 took place at The Brewery in London. Thanks to my fabulous sponsors, NurseryValue.com I spent the day with lots of like-minded parents, learning how to improve my blog. Cybermummy11 I started the morning with a bit of a hair makeover from Michael Douglas. We had a good gossip about the celebs he has worked with and he’s a lovely guy (and great hairdresser!). The keynote speech was given by Sarah Brown who spoke about how and why she uses twitter, her charity work and making sure her children had normal family time when they…

Only a couple of sleeps until Cybermummy 11 so I thought I would take the opportunity to write down my thoughts before the event. Cybermummy countdown I’m really looking forward to it. My husband will be spending the day with Edward so I don’t have to worry about them both, they will be having heaps of fun without me. I keep looking at the schedule and trying to decide what talks to go to. I’m really looking forward to hearing Sarah Brown speak, she’s my twitter crush. I was lucky to win a copy of her book and can’t wait…

Today Edward and I were invited to have a look round the new Disney store on Oxford Street which opens to the public tomorrow. Do you believe in the power of pixie dust? The store is 100% bigger than the previous Oxford Street store and is the biggest Disney Store in Europe. Some of the very special features include: A 28 ft high Princess Castle which stands in the centre of the store Approximately 3 tons of pixie dust have been added to the bricks in the Castle to make it more magical! The Cars Ridemakerz experience which allows children…

Did you know that your empty Johnson’s Baby Wipes packs are full of potential? Johnson’s have joined forces with TerraCycle to launch the new ‘Wipe Out Waste’ initiative. The aim is to reduce waste and its impact on the environment, whilst raising money for charity. The packs are upcycled and turned into bibs, mousemats, baby wipes holders or splash mats! Today Edward and I joined a host of other mummy bloggers to learn about this new initiative. Whilst Edward had fun at a tea party I listened to experts from Johnson’s and TerraCycle tell us how the campaign works. Have…

1. Today I went to BlogCamp, organised by the fabulous Sally, and I had a great time. I learned lots of tips to improve my blog, met up with online friends, got to hand out my lovely new business cards and had a day off from being mummy. 2. I have the best husband! He booked the day off from work when I said I wanted to go to BlogCamp and spent the day with Edward. They played in the sandpit for most of the day and then went on a boys’ trip to a local model shop. It sounds…

Last week Edward and I were invited to Westfield to learn more about a new partnership between Ella’s Kitchen and the ELC. They are working hard to ensure that everyone is hungry for fun! Every special stage 1 and baby brekkie pouch is currently wearing a bib which gives you 20% off at the Early Learning Centre plus the chance to win £100 worth of toys every day! We were lucky enough to meet the founder of Ella’s Kitchen – Paul Lindley, and we chatted to him about how he came up with the idea of Ella’s Kitchen and how…

Last week we were invited to take a look at the new Clarks Autumn/Winter 2011 collection in a beautiful period house in central London. Edward has recently started walking and I’m interested to see what shoes are available. We’d never been to an event like this before but we’re huge Clarks fans. I’ve always worn Clarks as they are so well made and good value for money and I hope Edward will enjoy wearing Clarks too. Clarks have been creating shoes for the last 18o years and the latest collection uses their Somerset heritage as a picturesque backdrop to the…

1. This was meant to be my first week back at work after maternity leave but as I resigned it’s been the first week of my new role as full-time mum. I’ve had a few wobbles about my decision this week but I know it was the right decision for me and my family. I’ve spent a lovely week with my husband and son, the sun has been shining and I’ve felt very happy. 2. I’ve got a Cybermummy sponsor! Completely out of the blue but a great brand. More details soon! 3. Edward and I have been to…
