I have two very crafty children who were delighted to receive the new stationery and activity subscription box from Mila & Pheebs. My 5 year old is currently learning all about the farm, and has a school visit planned later this month, so we had a lot of fun exploring the box together. The March Mila & Pheebs sub box had the theme Fun at the Farm. The Fun at the Farm box This sub box is lovely and slim and fitted nicely through our letterbox. It was waiting for them when they got home from school. They both love receiving…

We love crafting with washi tape. A few years ago I went crazy buying it and we still have so much of it. The good thing is that it is still sticky and perfect for crafting with. It’s especially fun for the children as they can just tear the tape with their fingers, no need for scissors! With Valentine’s Day coming up it is a great time to start on handmade Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. We always make them for the family and this year have made simple washi tape Valentine hearts bookmarks. We used: Heart-shaped cookie cutter Washi…

Mistletoe is such a pretty plant. We usually buy a bunch in December to hang inside our home – the perfect thing to grab a Christmas kiss under! This year we couldn’t find any to bring indoors so we decided to make our own mistletoe sun catcher. Mistletoe sun catcher craft for kids We used: cellophane wrappers from sweets, contact paper and white card. First I drew a piece of mistletoe on a sheet of white card. I cut out the mistletoe using my scalpel and cutting mat but you could do this with scissors. I covered one side with…

Last week I helped on a trip my son went on with his Year 2 class. We stopped to look at the colour of trees and the children loved picking up conkers and pine cones on the way. Autumn is a great season as I think it is easier for children to see the change in the weather, the leaves changing and falling, and there are so many opportunities to craft! Baker Ross sent us some of their new Autumn craft kits to try at home and these have been great as both my children have been off school this week.…

I really should be kept away from my local craft store as I couldn’t resist picking up a roll of Finding Dory Duck Tape. I love Duck Tape and the patterned ones are appealing to both me and my children. Have you seen Finding Dory yet? We’ve seen it twice already, I just can’t resist Hank! With a few weeks until the children go back to school we’ve been making some back to school crafts with the Finding Dory Duck Tape. Duck Tape is versatile so we used it to make wristlet keyrings, perfect for identifying book bags, lunch bags…

My children love receiving mail and their favourite type of mail is a craft package. My 6 year has already told me he wants to be an artist when he grows up, so I am happy to indulge him with craft supplies and activities to explore his hobby. We were offered a Strange Snail discovery box which is a crafty subscription box for kids aged 5-8 year. Each box is themed and activities are tailored to the Key Stage 1 curriculum, so the boxes are educational as well fun. Our box was about the Solar System and called Planet and…

I have a fun round up of 25 apple crafts and activities for pre-schoolers. We love this time of year, long warm sunny days with the promise of leaves turning golden brown, going blackberry picking and Apple Days. There are so many lovely crafts and activities for kids and I enjoyed bringing together my top 25 apple crafts for kids. 25 apple crafts for kids Apple Day is an annual celebration of apples and orchards, held in October. It is celebrated mainly in the United Kingdom and traditionally falls on 21st October, the date of the first such event in…

The children have been spending a lot of time in their garden playhouse this summer. We have been helping them make the space their own and personalising it with their favourite posters and beanbags. Today we made our own Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting to decorate the playhouse. Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting We used: A4 white card, Sizzix machine and bunting die, scalpel, cutting mat, contact paper and cellophane sheets. First I cut bunting flags using my Sizzix machine and the Bunting die to create 6 flags. Then I drew a swallow on half of the flags and a…

More of this beautiful weather please. With the children beginning their summer holidays I am on the lookout for how best to keep them both active and creative. I’m delighted to announce I will be working with BEAR Nibbles over the coming months, as BEAR really understands how to make being healthy a little bit easier and a whole lot tastier. BEAR believes in going the extra mile to ensure kids are both healthy and happy and has recently launched its Little Paws Outdoors Campaign, in partnership with The Wildlife Trusts, to make it a little bit easier and a…
