The weather has been amazing over the last few days. May has been a bit of mixed bag. One week the kids were back in coats for the school run and this week I’ve had trouble getting clothes on them! The good weather has meant we’ve been eating a little later and pushed bed times back as no-one can sleep in the hot evenings. Enjoying the good weather with Cranes cider I review a lot of toys and products that my children love but today I’m sharing something I recently discovered and is perfect for hot summer evenings – Cranes cider.…

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. It’s time for my weekly blog post about the five things which made me happy last week – Monday Happy Things {Week 138} I started off with my first week in my temporary job which I really enjoyed. I love being back at work after far too long as a SAHM. My 5 year old finished his SATs. It was a pretty boring week for them all at school so I’m glad it’s over for him. He was rewarded with a meal at Pizza Express and a new Star Wars…

We have had such a lovely weekend with friends. Last week was really busy with SATs, my first week in my new job and my husband working in a different office. We planned ahead to make sure we had a lovely weekend to look forward to. I’m not sure what it is about having children but weekends are sooooo busy. There is always something to do – for the kids. As well as weekly swimming lessons there are endless birthday parties. Now the weather is warmer there seem to be more Rainbows and Beavers activities too. For once we had…

I’ve been self-employed for the last few years, juggling my blog around when my children are at school. I would love to say I’m organised, managing my workload alongside family life with no hiccups, but I can’t. Most of the time my house looks like a bomb has hit it and I often feel like a failure trying to keep on top of writing and promoting blog posts and invoicing, whilst ferrying around my children between school and after school clubs. Does your star sign reveal how organised you are? I’ve read a lot about journalling and how it can…

Last week was good. I love a Bank Holiday Monday and we decided to visit Buckinghamshire Railway Centre and Waddesdon Manor.Buckinghamshire Railway Centre was huge and although the weather wasn’t great we all enjoyed riding on the trains. We had a lovely day out but it was pretty tiring. The highlight of our week was of course Star Wars Day! We started with a yummy Star Wars breakfast of green Yoda milk. It would have been blue Bantha milk but we didn’t have any blue food colouring. There were also Star Wars pancakes which were a fun way to start the…

If you’re a mum of small people, or perhaps married to a Lego nerd, then you may have a house full of Lego minifigs. Now I love Lego Minifigs, especially since they did some amazing collabs such as the Disney one. Oh yes, I couldn’t wait to collect those and quickly did, thanks to the lovely staff at our local toy shop who could identify a blind bag in seconds. My husband collected the first series of the Simpsons, and my 7 year old recently collected the Batman series. This left us with a problem. How to display a collection…

Happy May Day! Last week was a full week with everyone back at work and school and was therefore pretty tiring. Thank goodness for a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend! Time for my weekly round up of the 5 things which have made me happiest. Monday happy things – Week 135 Last week my son started Gardening Club and I managed to get my daughter a place at Street Dance. This means we are ridiculously busy after school but I’m glad they have the opportunity to try new things. The choir I sing with started again for the Summer term…

My 5 year old demanded we bake some cakes this weekend and she knew just what she wanted to make – Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes. She’s been a big fan of those Paw Patrols pups since she started nursery last year and her obsession shows no sign of waning just yet. Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes were pretty easy to make. We made a simple but delicious chocolate batter and filled some cute cases with the mixture. My daughter loves licking the spoons and bowls and could do this all day long. When the cupcakes were baked…
