I thought I would participate in the Sew, Mama, Sew May Giveaway Day 2011. Up for grabs I have one metre of Royal Wedding fabric which I bought from my favourite department store, John Lewis. I’m trying to collect a range of fabrics so I don’t just have Cath Kidston fabrics. With this is mind I recently signed up for a Scrappy Fabric swap over at Very Berry Handmade. I sent off a pack of scraps to my partner Nikki (which I hope she liked) and received a little parcel from Teresa at A Time for Stitching. A couple of weeks ago Kitschy Coo put a call out to test her new reversible hoodie pattern. I leapt at the chance. I’m a complete novice crafter but love handmade so I had to give it a go. I chose a fleecy orange for the lining and green camouflage for the shell. The pattern was well laid out with easy to follow steps. First I cut the pattern in both fabrics. My son dribbles a lot. He’s coming up to 6 months and we’re waiting for him to cut his first tooth – I can see it! To try and protect his clothes and prevent his eczema getting aggravated I’ve made him a number of dribble bibs to mop up the drool.
