Before anyone gets excited I should perhaps clarify the title of this blog post. No, we haven’t been invited to spend Christmas Day at Hughenden Manor, but we visited last weekend to meet Father Christmas and enjoy their winter activities. Hughenden Manor is our favourite National Trust property and we try to visit at least once during the seasons. You might think a visit in winter would be a little dull but we love it as the staff and volunteers make sure they pull all the stops out. Having visited Father Christmas there a few years ago, we knew we…

On Saturday we were fortunate to be invited to see ‘TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the Saatchi Gallery. It had been a while since our last visit to the Saatchi Gallery and we really wanted to go and see this exhibition so jumped at the chance! It was an early start but we jumped on the underground and were soon at Sloane Square for a quick walk to the Saatchi Gallery. Tutankhamum: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh The touring exhibition opened last month (it’s already been to Los Angeles and Paris) and is open until Sunday 3rd May…

Over the Summer we visited The Pop Up Farms Sunflower Festival and we couldn’t wait to come back and visit their pumpkin patch. The PYO Pumpkin Patch opened today and we were delighted to visit ahead of a very busy October. A wheelbarrow full of pumpkins from The Pop Up Farm We had such a good experience at the Sunflower Festival that we knew what to expect at the Pumpkin Patch. As we entered…

This week sees us going back to school and my thoughts are already turning to all the fun things that Autumn in London brings. We love living in London and are spoilt for choice with autumnal things to see and do. This autumn we are really looking forward to visiting a pumpkin patch. I know that’s it’s a bit American but it’s a tradition I’m happy to adopt. We’ve enjoyed trips to lavender farms and a sunflower farm, and this year we will be looking for a pumpkin patch near London. Where are the best places to pick pumpkins near…

My youngest loves to be active, especially over the holidays when all her normal clubs aren’t on. A couple of times she asked to go to the climbing walls at Rock Up Watford in Hertfordshire. It’s a great location because you can book a session and combine it with a shopping trip and getting something to eat. We went last week and it was our third visit. Rock Up is a chain with currently 5 locations – Watford, Hull, Whiteley, Birmingham and Rushden Lakes. We have only been to Rock Up Watford and it has 27 climbing walls, a soft…

When we were in London to visit the SEA LIFE London Aquarium I noticed that we would be really close to Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel. I love street art and thought it was the perfect opportunity to go hunting for some of London’s famous street art. Leake St Tunnel is pretty well known and I couldn’t wait to go and visit with the kids. How do I find Leake Street? The first question you might ask is how do I find the Leake Street Tunnel? If you search on google maps you’ll find the Leake Street Tunnel is a 300m…

I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Five Happy Things {Week 254} We started off the week camping at Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight. We had a great time camping (despite the weather!) and enjoyed playing on the beach, crabbing swimming in the pool. Unfortunately we had an awful journey back to London. I was really…

With the weekend looming I proposed a trip to The Pop Up Farm. I hate driving and The Pop Up Farm was too far out of my comfort zone to drive but the hubby was happy to do it, especially as he’s just bought himself a swanky new car. The Pop Up Farm opened last year but this was the first time we had a free weekend and it was open. I’d been keeping an eye on their Instagram page so knew a little about what to expect from their Sunflower Festival. Instagram perfection at The Pop Up Farm The…
