Did you know The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is celebrating his 15th anniversary? The Forestry Commission are marking the anniversary with special trails in some amazing woodlands around the country. My children adore the story of The Gruffalo so we were very excited to head off to our nearest Gruffalo activity trail at Wendover Woods. Wendover Woods is lovely with numerous walking, cycle and horse riding trails; a children’s play area; a Cafe in the Woods; toilets; fixed barbecue stands you can book in advance and Go Ape adventure course for the very adventurous. You can buy a…

Are you enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend so far? Today we visited the Shuttleworth Collection and enjoyed lots of fresh air and sunshine. I’m not sure if the weather is going to last all weekend, no matter as we’re planning on doing lots of DIY tomorrow and Monday. Fortunately we don’t need to leave the house as we have already done our food shopping for the weekend thanks to Morrisons. Little Sis helping me shop at Morrisons Since last Thursday Morrisons have cut the prices on over a thousand of your favourite products. Not temporary reductions or supermarket smoke and…

The Baby and Toddler Show is a must for parents-to-be, parents, grandparents, friends and just about everyone. You’ll find hundreds of brands under one roof making it a brilliant place to find out more about prams, cots, nappies and just about anything and every baby product every imagined. The Baby and Toddler Show is one of the most popular shows of its kind in the UK. With their latest show only weeks away (7th – 9th March) at Event City in Manchester and the Bluewater show (25th – 27th April) not far behind, I am delighted to be able to…

Tree Fu Tom is a magical and interactive action adventure CG animated pre-school series which follows a young boy called Tom who can use Movement Magic (‘Tree Fu’) to transform in to a tiny but mighty magical superhero and travel to Treetopolis, an enchanted world in a tree at the bottom of his garden. Last week we were lucky enough to catch the popular CBeebies’ hero at his first ever live show at Westfield London. Called ‘Tree Fu Go!’ little fans were able to help Tom and his friends save the day in an action-packed adventure in the magical world…

Like most of the UK we have been experiencing our fair share of bad weather lately. The forecast for the weekend was atrocious so instead of staying in with two bored children we decided to head out to visit the Natural History Museum. We were lucky and managed to park 2 minutes from the front door so didn’t get too wet. We hadn’t visited in a while but the children were so excited! Our first stop was the Dinosaurs gallery. The only dinosaur my children knew was Mr Dinosaur from Peppa Pig. In fact Little Sis took her very own…

We didn’t have a proper holiday last year as all our money went on moving house. So this year my challenge is to be lucky and win a short stay at Center Parcs by winning the Center Parcs and Tots 100 January challenge. Nothing like a little positive thinking, right? I like to think we are a family who love a challenge. We try to pack as much as possible into the weekends (as we’re already a slave to nursery Monday to Friday). As much as my children love attending nursery they really come alive when they are unleashed and let…

What a week we’ve had. Coughs, cold, the flu, Christmas plays and parties. Christmas cards written and sent. Christmas gifts almost all wrapped. Mulled wine made and drunk. Christmas tree bought and decorated. This weekend was lovely and quiet (on purpose) and the only things we really wanted to do was get out to our local farmers market and take a ride on the Santa Shuttle. First stop of the day was the Ruislip Artisan Food and Craft Market. We’re so lucky to have this on our doorstep and the children love it. It’s held around the Manor Farm complex…

Today we were invited to see Peaceful Lion Productions present an adaptation of Nadia Shireen’s ‘Hey, Presto!’ for children aged 3 to 8 and their adults at the Pleasance Islington. Peaceful Lion Productions are a small company with big ambitions, and love putting on shows that appeal to parents and children alike – with a dab of spectacle for good measure. Their new Christmas production is, Hey, Presto! which began on the 4th of December (and runs until the 21st December). We’ve only ever taken them to the theatre once before and thought this would be a lovely treat for…

This afternoon Little Sis and I visited Westfield London to get ourselves into the Christmas spirit. It’s quite easy for us to get to Westfield London so we hopped on the tube and soon emerged into the shopping centre. I love to plan so had a list of things to see and do. First up was to check out the Christmas lights and decorations which were so pretty. There’s a fantastic indoor ice-rink so we spent a good 10 minutes watching people ice skate. There’s a minimum age requirement of 4 so we’ll be trying it out next year. There…
