    Portable Lego Kit {Lego Busy Box}

    After a few weeks at home we have finally got away for a holiday. I was really looking forward to a change of scenery and some meals out! Our preparations start early as my children love to start planning what they are going to take. Now clearly they are only talking about their toys but you would think they were planning the whole trip with the amount of discussions which take place. My 6 year old loves his Lego, especially his Star Wars sets, so wanted to take some of this with him. The last time we agreed to Lego…

    Recycled plastic bag sandcastle flags

    Today I am taking part in the monthly Project: recycle and create blog hop, the theme is using plastic bags. Earlier in the summer we recycled plastic bags to make a Hank from Finding Dory wind sock. Despite the tax on plastic bags I admit I often forget to bring our own and end up buying one. Unfortunately we have a lot of plastic bags at home. We had a large Paw Patrol plastic bag which I thought would be fun to upcycle into something for my 4 year old. She’s a huge Paw Patrol fan so we made recycled…

    10 Swallows and Amazons inspired crafts

    As we were coming back from the theatre last night my 4 year old spotted a poster for the new Swallows and Amazons film which is out today. You may remember we were lucky to attend the preview last month and the film obviously made a big impression on her as she wants to see it again. I couldn’t resist looking for Swallows and Amazons crafts. We’ve already made a few ourselves but here are 10 Swallows and Amazons inspired crafts for fans of the book or film – make sure you try and see it! 10 Swallows and Amazons…

    How to make a Duck Tape keyring

    I really should be kept away from my local craft store as I couldn’t resist picking up a roll of Finding Dory Duck Tape. I love Duck Tape and the patterned ones are appealing to both me and my children. Have you seen Finding Dory yet? We’ve seen it twice already, I just can’t resist Hank! With a few weeks until the children go back to school we’ve been making some back to school crafts with the Finding Dory Duck Tape. Duck Tape is versatile so we used it to make wristlet keyrings, perfect for identifying book bags, lunch bags…

    Decorating with Posca pens and a giveaway

    Yesterday I was playing with Posca marker pens. They are a unique water-based paint marker that write on almost all surfaces including fabrics, glass, metal, paper, card, wood and stone. The markers are also water resistant, fade resistant and odour free. How to make a decorated tealight holder As they seem to work on pretty much any surface I decorated a glass jar to make a tealight holder. The Posca marker pens come in a set of 6 assorted colours – white, black, blue, green, orange and red. They are nice and chunky to hold and easy to apply. I added some simple…

    11 best Olympic crafts and activities for kids

    To me summer means putting my feet up and trying to catch some of the Summer Olympics on tv. Although I’m not sporty or particularly competitive I just love the Olympics and watching the best sports people from around the world competing. I also think it’s a good way for my children to learn more about sports, different countries and hopefully inspire them too. I can’t miss an opportunity for seasonal crafting so have brought together 11 of the best Olympic crafts and activities for kids to celebrate the Games of the XXXI Olympiad: Easy tennis cupcakes Flag rock featuring…

    Pokémon Go Poké ball pom pom craft

    You can tell the weather must be bad if I’m back with another post today. Have your children caught the Pokémon Go bug? If so, I have a quick and easy craft with our Pokémon Go Poké ball pom poms. In case you didn’t know, a Poké Ball is a type of item that is critical to a Trainer’s quest, and is used for catching and storing Pokémon. Pom poms are always fun to make. You can make your own cardboard circles from an old cereal box which is what I used to do when I was a child. Or…

    Jenny Makes Mollie Makes Felt Bouquet

    Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of them. Issue 69 of Mollie Makes came with a cute Pom Pom Necklace Kit. There was also a a little booklet with 3 bonus projects – to make a felt bouquet, pastel drop mobile and a Scandi cushion. I didn’t like the necklace so decided to…
