    Paper plate Winnie the Pooh craft

    Did you know that this year sees Winnie-the-Pooh’s 90th anniversary? The 14th October 2016 marks 90 years since A.A. Milne’s first Winnie-the-Pooh book was published! Fans of honey-loving Pooh Bear can celebrate the anniversary in style, with a wide range of products inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood gang. I really like the look of the limited edition Cath Kidston and Disney collaboration! I love the fact that Winnie the Pooh is timeless. Along with his friends – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl and not forgetting Christopher Robin – they should definitely be remembered and celebrated. I had…

    Our day at The Handmade Fair {2016}

    This weekend I had my annual trip to The Handmade Fair. I went with my sister last year and had a brilliant time so was really keen to go again. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a bit like a festival for crafty people, about appreciating the beauty of handmade, and learning the skills to become a maker yourself. The price of your ticket includes The Super Theatre, a Skills Workshop and Grand Make and there are also huge tents full of crafty shops to look around and buy from. Some of the workshops book up really quickly but…

    Monday Happy List – Week 104

    My children have settled really well into the new school year. My 4 year old has just started Reception but only went for morning last week. She has been really happy every day I picked her up which was a huge relief. The only thing she didn’t like was drinking her milk so I have to cancel this for her! The weather was certainly full of extremes last week. The first half of the week was unseasonally hot and we didn’t really want to do much. Luckily some school friends invited us over for a playdate and the children all…

    Mollie Makes crochet flower garland

    Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of them. Mollie Makes crochet flower garland Issue 70 of Mollie Makes came with a crochet flower garland kit – 3mm crochet hook, dark pink yarn, green yarn, yellow yarn, pink yarn and orange yarn. My heart sank a little when I saw it as I am…

    Halloween Monster Letter Decorations

    Here in the South of England we’ve been experiencing a mini heatwave. My daughter is only doing half days at school this week as she settles in so we’ve had some amazing afternoon playdates in the sunshine. All this makes today’s crafty post a little strange to write as we’ve started our Halloween crafting! Yep, not only are the shops full of Christmas cards but Halloween decorations too. A few days ago we received our latest parcel of Bostik goodies to craft with. The theme was Halloween which is always fun. Our parcel of goodies contained both Bostik Glue Dots…

    Crochet for beginners

    I’m always keen to try new creative things. I love learning and making things with my hands. Nothing beats leaving my family bubble for a few hours, getting out and meeting new people and hopefully picking up a new hobby. Aside from crafting with my children I love to indulge my hobby of sewing but I’m pretty open to trying new things. I’ve tried keeping tabs on some of my favourite craft venues but it can be pretty time consuming looking through online calendars and reading newsletters trying to find what you’re looking for. So I was pretty excited to…

    Celebrating Roald Dahl Day

    My blog seems to be receiving lots of visits from people searching for Roald Dahl crafts lately which is great as we are big fans of Roald Dahl and the characters he created. This year is a very special year for Roald Dahl fans as we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s birth. As we will soon be celebrating Roald Dahl Day I thought I would bring together some of my most popular Roald Dahl posts in one place. Roald Dahl Day September is Roald Dahl’s birth month, and each year it is celebrated with wonderful events centred…

    Monday Happy List – Week 102

    Last week was our last full week of the summer holidays. We seemed to pack a lot in to our week, making happy memories and enjoying some weather (not sure where that has gone now though!). I’m enjoying one last day with my son before he starts school tomorrow so I’m keeping my weekly Monday Happy List brief. Whilst we were away we finally managed to sit down and watch The BFG film. I had been looking forward to seeing this film all summer and it was amazing. Some parts of the story had been added, which my 6 year old…

    Back to school prep {Gel-A-Peel review}

    I’m not sure how I’m going to cope when both my children are back at school. We have spent a lot of the summer playing, crafting and reviewing some cool new toys. This morning I was taking up my daughter’s trousers (I’m sure I will be letting them down again soon!) so it seems apt that I’m sharing a fun back to school craft. Have you heard of the Gel-A-Peel range? It’s a cool new fashion activity that allows you to make your own creations. You can make accessories such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces but also use your creations to…
