It’s been a while since we have reviewed any Aquabeads sets. Both the children (aged 5 and 7) enjoy Aquabeads. They are the perfect after school activity for them, as they require a little bit of concentration, and peace and quiet for me! Aquabeads Finding Dory playset Dory might not remember her unforgettable adventures but you can make your favourite characters to help remind her. Today I am starting a new series on my blog – the A-Z Play at Home blog hop organised by Teach Me Mommy. The idea is lovely and simple – to use everyday objects around the home for crafting or a learning activity. The first letter is A so I challenged my 7 year old to come up with something. He chose acrylic paint, as this is something that our house is full of, and apples. So we combined the two to make some awesome apple print butterflies, read on for our tutorial. My children have embraced Star Wars Day as they do Easter and Christmas. To them it’s completely normal to decorate our little indoor seasonal tree with Star Wars decorations. This year we decorated our little tree and made a Star Wars Day wreath! Decorating for Star Wars Day We hung the little Star Wars toys which came with Kinder Eggs which both my children collected. They were the strangest mash up of a figure and vehicle I’ve ever seen but each one came with a little hanger – perfect for hanging on a tree! We managed to get the complete…

Since having children it feels like I’ve embraced Star Wars a little more each year. This year we are celebrating Star Wars Day with decorations and hopefully some food! My 7 year old is the biggest Star Wars fan, despite my attempts to introduce other things. Now I just embrace it along with him, and know far more than I need to about Star War characters and the galaxy. To bring it back to my comfort area I make sure we do plenty of Star Wars crafts! Thank goodness for Pinterest! May the 4th is Star Wars Day although it…

Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. I skipped the March issue as it contained a loom kit, the same as in issue 58 (and made here). I gave the kit to my sister so hopefully she has made something cute to hang up in her house. Issue 78 of Mollie Makes came with an…

This weekend my crafty 5 year old has been colouring in her clothes. I don’t normally encourage her to do this, but it’s ok, because she had a very special pirate Colour In Top from the Selfie Clothing Co., handmade in the UK. There are lots of different designs, from a Princess to a Superhero, Cowboy to Firefighter. As well as long-sleeved tops you can also choose pyjamas and gorgeous capes. Pirate Colour In Top from Selfie Clothing Co. My daughter loves dressing up and she has lots of outfits I’ve picked up for her. She loves to pretend to…

The release of the new trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII yesterday got us all excited for the new film. Let’s ignore the fact we still have to wait another 8 months. I’m sure it will go in a flash! Our whole family loves all things Star War so I thought I would bring together my favourite Princess Leia crafts. Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, later known as General Leia Organa, was one of the original Star Wars characters. Played by the late Carrie Fisher I’m glad she had finished filming Episode VIII but sad to hear she won’t be appearing in Episode IX.…
