    Monthly Make – April

Longer, warmer days make me want to get on with my long list of sewing projects. This month I’ve made a cute tshirt for Edward from a paper doll set which I picked up at the Spring Country Living Fair. Do you remember the paper dolls you had as a child? The clothes never seemed to fit or stay on my paper dolls which is why I was happy to see one which could be used as appliques with a bit of help from bondaweb. I ironed the little boy onto the front of a plain white tshirt and put…

Cath Kidston and Uniqlo Charity Project

I’m sure you know I’m a huge fan of Cath Kidston. Only today I stopped off to buy a lovely business card holder for my new Moo business cards at the Cath Kidston on Marylebone High Street. Today was a bit of a shopping marathon and, whilst browsing in Uniqlo in Westfield, I spotted some very familiar prints. Cath Kidston has teamed up with Uniqlo to produce a range of tshirts using some of her most popular prints. Many of the tshirts are already sold out but I snapped up two as they are currently on offer at 2 for…

    Losing the baby weight

Little Man is now 10 months old and I have arranged an interview with my employer to discuss flexible working. Today I went shopping to buy some new work clothes and I came away empty handed. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is struggling to lose their baby weight. I wasn’t too worried about my weight while I was pregnant and happily bought lovely maternity clothes and lots of cake. My weight began to drop off after I gave birth and a couple of months after my son was born I packed away my maternity clothes and slipped…

Quinny Zapp Xtra meets its ultimate challenge!

…the snow finally came. I’d been watching the news about the snow fall and feeling left out until last night. About 10pm the snow started falling and barely stopped all day. Fortunately my husband was discharged from hospital today so we decided to take Edward for a walk so he could see his first snow. This was also our first opportunity to see how the Quinny coped in the snow. So we bundled ourselves up in layers of clothing and off we went. The Quinny handled well in the snow. I had to push it quite hard to get it…

    Pumpkin carving for beginners

As it’s Edward’s first Halloween we decided to go all out to have a party to remember. Edward had two outfits, or a morning and afternoon outfit, as he is a messy eater! This morning he wore a skeleton outfit and this afternoon a pumpkin outfit (hat knitted by nanny!). As well as an outfit we decided to have Halloween themed food and decorations, which meant a carved pumpkin. My husband is a novice pumpkin carver but managed to produce this beauty: Not bad for his first attempt!

    Cute baby pic

Someone found my blog by searching for ‘cute baby pic’. I’m pleased because I have plenty of cute baby pics and I think my little boy is very photogenic! So I was very happy that Edward won a ‘cool baby’ competition at Oh Baby London using this photograph. The prize was £100 to spend online at Oh Baby London which prides itself on clothing for lucky kids. I picked some lovely tshirts, bibs and a retro camouflage tracksuit which go well with Edward’s feisty and unique personality. The clothes arrived super quick and Edward loves them all, in fact he…
