    Orla Kiely board books

    Last month two new books were published by the Irish fashion designer, Orla Kiely, in her range of cloth bound board books. Just like numbers and colours, creatures and shapes are two beautiful books for babies and toddlers. Shapes focuses on some of the most common geometric shapes and then places them alongside a common object or animal featuring that shape. Crafty books

    I was lucky enough to receive some new craft books for Christmas. Added to my extensive ‘craft’ shelf I now have a copy of Sew by Cath Kidston and Making Chidren’s Clothes by Emma Hardy. I also got a copy of the Sewing 2010 day to day calendar which will hopefully inspire me to use – and not just look at – my lovely sewing basket more often this year. However, only 10 weeks to go until my due date so I’d better make a start on the cot quilt soon!

    :: Home ::

    :: Home :: You may think I’ve been quiet but I’ve actually been really busy corresponding with record offices to see how much information I could get for free! I found out where Selina Caswell is buried and that Alfred Young’s name appears on the First World War memorial in Bridgend, Wales. Attention to detail is everything 🙂 I’ve also just finished reading Home by Julie Myerson, which was brilliant.
