You all know that I can’t resist an adult colouring book. I’ve featured quite a few here on my blog and although I’ve had to cull a few due to running out of space, I’ve kept quite a few of my favourites. With two small kids we are never short of colouring books, pens and pencils. We often share our colouring books as 3 people working on a page is a lot quicker than one. I recently received a copy of Johanna Basford‘s ‘Ivy and the Inky Butterfly’. This is one book I don’t think I’ll be sharing. Johanna Basford is an ink…

Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? It’s coming up towards the end of the month on March 26th here in the UK. I always look forward to receiving a handmade card and little gift. I quite like it if I get a day off from cooking too, just someone else to take over the food preparation and the dishwasher is my idea of a perfect day. I’m not quite sure what we’re doing but I’m hoping there will be some time for a hot cup of tea and an hour with my favourite adult colouring book. There are some gorgeous books around…

I love my adult colouring book collection but was recently introduced to something a little different. The Wild Garden from Usborne Publishing is a rub-down transfer book which is the perfect gift for Mother’s Day and a creative and therapeutic experience for children and adults alike. The Wild Garden rub-down transfer book, is brimming with eleven exquisite gardens. Each ‘garden’ has a delicate line drawing to colour in and a colourful picture to fill with beautiful rub-down transfers of flowers, butterflies, birds, frogs and fish, which are stored in a handy envelope at the front of the book. There is something…

Here’s a round up of some of my favourite adult colouring books around – perfect in case my husband needs a few ideas! I love to take some time out of every day to make something. I spend a lot of time at my computer so love to shut my laptop and pick up my latest paper cut or adult colouring book. I’ve always enjoyed colouring in and I’ve had a lot of practice with my own children who love to colour. Thankfully someone came up with the idea of colouring books for grown ups and it’s been lovely to have some gorgeous colouring books for myself. I know my readers also seem to enjoy the craze of adult colouring books so today…

Every year Halloween celebrations seem to get bigger and better. This year our preparations started quite early. We’ve already made a start on our Halloween crafts, we shared our egg carton ghosts yesterday, and have so many more planned. Halloween is fun for my children but it has a much darker side that you are probably more familiar with. If you are a fan of Halloween then you may be interested in two brand new adult colouring books – Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Embrace the greatest Gothic literature of all time and indulge your creativity with…

With the School holidays looming I thought you may be interested in More Colouring for Contemplation by Amber Hatch and Alex Ogg, the follow on title from the team that brought you the hugely successful Colouring for Contemplation. Colouring books for adults have seen a huge rise in popularity, this ‘new’ craft is an antidote to the stresses of modern living. In answer to this, Watkins released Colouring for Contemplation in November and a pocket edition of the same book in January. These books have received fantastic 5 star reviews across the board with positive comments on the book’s…

It is no secret that colouring in for adults was the biggest new book trend of 2015 and one which I absolutely love. Now innovative greeting card company Cardooo, who also stock activity cards and fairytale story cards for children, have released a unique range of colouring in cards for adults. Each of the six designs contains an 8 page illustrated booklet hidden inside. Colouring is not just child’s play, picking up your pencils and getting arty is good for you. It promotes mindfulness, relieves stress, and can benefit fine motor skills. The series consists of six unique styles, each…
